Anyone seen or heard of a Pack West Arms Commando? Apparently they are a clone of the Colt Commando??? I did an internet search and came up with squat? If you have pics of one, I'd love to see it!

Pac West Arms manufactured lower receivers marked "Commando". It was up to the purchaser as to what configuration it was built.

PWA made lower receivers marked COMMANDO. With the exception of the third from the left, which is a Colt SP1, you're looking at 'em...

PWA eventually became LMT.

That is a kick ass line up.

WOW! What kind of quality, are they good AR's or just a nice collectable?

If you can find a early PWA lower, they were made with A1 forgings & make great A1 & XM clones

I had a sweet preban PWA Commando marked lower during the ban years. It had one of the nicest stock triggers I have ever shot. I traded it off after the ban sunset to an ARFCOM member in a ban state. Although it was the right thing to do, I still miss that lower.

I still have a no ban PWA lower that I got from RB Precision that's damn sweet.

I have a pre and a post - both are quality, although the pre- is a bit glossy for my taste, but it's nothing some Norrel's OD green can't fix.

If I could find more post- PWA receivers, I'd buy them up, especially at the price that RBP was selling them at.

Very nice.

Thanks, Because of the finish I prefer Coal Valley Eagle arms A1 lowers, but Victor can fix a PWA up. Is going to be a A1 clone, and there will be pics.

That sounds like a sweet project and I look forward to the pictures.

Yep, that's pretty much how mine looks, except it has a serial number of 00024XX.

That would be an A2 forging?

I've owned several brands of lowers and the PWA is one of my favorites, I usually sell off the others but always keep the PWA's, good stuff

ETA: oh yea, I'd also buy any more I can find, If you can get one I would suggest buying it
the Commando markings will let you build it up to just about anything without the mismatched markings (such as the Colts, A-3, A-2, match target, etc...)

My PWA isn't marked "commando" or anything else.
Link Posted: 12/28/2005 3:36:25 PM EDT
I had one during the ban, very nice lower. Now it resides in a state-ban state, making its owner happy.

PWA is my favorite... have had Colt, Bushy, Stag, etc. Not the nicest finish, but damn solid and everything is as it should be. Got mine cheap too! If I loose it all, this little rec. I will keep....
Mine is marked Commando as well.

Here is a PWA Commando that I just sold on the EE. Very, very low serial number 11XX

What's this about PWA = LMT? I I could swear that a few years ago, Rock River Arms picked up the PWA line and built it up into RRA as we know it today.

BTW, PWA's latest lowers were some of their best. People were comparing them to Bushmasters and were grabbing them up like nobody's business.

I have two PWA Commando lower receivers and I love 'em!

Edit-Here's one shot of my 2nd one, let me see if I can do better:
