i dont have any first hand knowlege on its effectiveness on AR pistols, but most i hear that its better than the A2
the pahntom is better than the A2 on carbines, so i would guess that the same for pistols h/w, for a AR pistol, i dont see how much of a difference that will be--probably just a little improvement |

the Phantom (new model) has been the equal to the Vortex in all tests I've performed, the Vortex is superior to all others on pistol (6") barrels so I can assume that the Phantom will also work fine.

Phantoms work VERY good.
I test fired a 7.5" 223 barrel with one a month or so ago. It just happened that I had to go to the range at night. I was expecting a decent fireball. Looking over the iron sights, I saw no flash. Maybe there would have been a little looking from the side, but I never lost what limited sight I had in the dark because of flash. I was mighty impressed. I know that's a subjective opinion, so if you want to see the photo proof, chase down the flash hider pics that float around here. Tweak likely took them... |

I'm guessing the 28A, 5C1, and 5C2 are all equally effective?
