Thanks Snaps.

I often leave Knights off these lists, but they clearly belong at/near the top.

My only complaint about KAC is availability

But then again, if i wanted one bad enough, I suppose I could get one (or components thereof)

I just believe when you buy a less expensive copy of something ,you usually get what you pay for ...

Colt (which I love) is over priced due to the name IMHO.  Bushmasters and the rest are probably around the correct price for the market.  You can't equate price with quality in this instance.

What do you guys think about Les Baer??

Bushmaster generally speaking isn't much cheaper than a colt. 1, maybe 2hundred bucks.

Nope, any AR maker who installs trigger sear blocks and uses non-standard part dimensions on their civilian guns is not worthy of an honest, law-abiding citizens support.

Let's see...

Colt:

Non-milsec hammer/trigger pins
Web style sear block

Bushmaster:

Non-milspec buffer tube
Non-milspec carbine sight height

RRA:

Non-milspec buffer tube
Non-milspec carbine sight height
High shelf style sear block

Armalite:

Non-milspec buffer tube
Non-milspec carbine sight height
High shelf style sear block

LMT:

High shelf style sear block

Looks like you won't be buying anyone's AR based on your criteria.

I like my Clark Gator a lot and my White Oak gun was great.

The rest mentioned are just all about the same.  Get bo....the one on sale.

Colt- makes the best ARs. See quality, history, attention to detail

Bushmaster- #1 in civilian sales, copied colt well except buffer tube & barrel twist and detailed testing/QC

RRA- see Bushmaster but with out of specs lowers

Armalite: #4 for no good reason other than making unique FHs, and trying to be a trend-setter when everyone wants the real thing - only

How are RRAs lowers out of spec?

I was under the impression Armalite started the current trend .....I'm sure I could be wrong tho.
