I m looking to sell a new in the box Colt MT6731 rifle....I ve had it many years and held onto it for my son, who I thought might move up from smallbore, but quit competing...what is it worth?

Given its post ban  set up, the 6731 would bring around $800-$900 unless you sell to someone "behind the lines" (in a state that still recognizes the AWB)

Maybe $100 or so more.

I'm with redfisher, $800 or so.  There really isn't much value on AWB compliant weapons right now.

Thanks for the reply...mine is an earlier model, they call it a pre-ban, with flash hider, non removeable handle, no bayonet lug....does the same still apply?

I don't think its the same model as the one we are talking about.  Post a picture, I could be wrong.

ok, thanks for the patience, it's probably my fault....the box is a blue label, and says Colt Match Target, Competition H-Bar II, Model MT 6731...the s/n starts out CJC and is 4 digits with three zeroes ahead of it...I ll try to attach a photo, let me know if it doesn't come thru.   Thank you,  T.J.

Well, it depends on what ban you are talkin' about. After the whole Patrick Purdy incident, and the subsequent Roberti-Roos 1989 California AWB, Colt AR15s began to reappear sans bayonet lugs in the commercial market. I have a 1993 model Colt Sporter HBAR and it has the milled-off bayonet lug.

For instance, you can have a pre-Federal 1994 AWB Colt with all the threaded flash-hider, but it's still missing the bayonet lug. But to have the bayonet lug, it would have to be a 1990 or earlier Colt.

Blue label Colt Sporters that are preban didnt have bayo lugs. I think they stopped putting them on in the late 80's early 90's over political pressure.

Check gunbroker, they have flash hiders and threaded barrels but no lug.

My apologies to all....rather than make up a story, I'd grabbed the box from my duty weapon....the rifle I want to sell is a NIB blue label R6601 Colt ....any opinions on what I should look to get for it?....Thanks,  T.J.
