I've been itchin' to get one of those 11.5" uppers.. I mean, this thread has made the itch worse.  What's the best place to purchase one of these uppers?  I checked gunbroker and wasn't sure if their prices (about $400) were the best prices.. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out CMMG, that’s where I just got my latest upper; Colt LW… this one:

The Colt 9mm arf

The Colt HBAR SRB with Gemtech M4-96C

The 11.5inch Bushmaster A2 (probably going to sell this upper in favor of an A3)

There’s more coming (gotta keep up with UXB), just for good measure though… commando FAL

UXB- are those real moderators or lookalikes?  That's a lotta tax stamps for me considering I've not even gotten one yet!

This is making me think SBR should be above Supressor on the Tax Refund Spending list...

JosephR, they are non-NFA moderators.  The original moderators were designed to make the 10" barrels sound like 20" barrels so that firing your weapon was not only more pleasant for the shooters but it also didn't alert the shootees that Special Ops were in the area.

If you are interested in true functional moderators, they can be had at Total Silence, Inc.

I'm waiting on my Form1 to come back on an XM177E2 that I'm building and I'm getting ready to order one of their XM177 moderators and grenade ring to finish it out.

Good point. I guess I should have bracketed it with a [sarcasm]

I hate that the Colt v Bushmaster thing is so divisive and polarizing

We all have a common thread among us and shouldn't TRY to find something that ruins it. (my pledge. )
