How about we just post pics of SIR rails, and leave the SIR rails suck discussions for another thread?

I feel that my LaRue 7.0 is a much better rail system.  The SIR is just too bulky.

one of the reasons i got rid of mine was cause of the weight.

-didnt have problems with running a light cause i either used the m900 or a tape switch
-vertical grip again wasnt a problem since i was using the m900
-plastic bottom never gave me problems to consider it a problem
-dont like the eotech so that would never give me a problem
-it was the easiest freefloat i ever installed

#46C.

I've thought about selling it to fund a new toy...(cmp garand) but can't bring myself to do it.  I like it although it needs to be tightened once in a while.  I'm also not sure if I like fwd grips or not...

I just got a SIR last year and I would not get rid of it for nothing else. I like other systems too, but the SIR cools off like nothing else. I would post pics if I had my cam.
PS Not long ago if you did'nt have a SIR you sucked around here.

The QD Collar for the BR can.  It keeps the issued FH and the collar drops on. the can screws onto the collar.

Thanks for the info. Never saw one for sale in Finland... Custom made?
I´m more interested AU suppressors anyway, though both come from same company AFAIK.

I would suggest that anyone that is interested in buying a SIR try it out first.

The down sides to the SIR are the following:

1. Heavier than other rail systems
2. More expensive than other rail systems
3. Cannot use a Tango Down Vertical Grip
4. Cannot use an EOTech on any of the SIR's (less one) which one?

The above are NOT my opinions, but facts. (?)

I have a DPMS Panther Carbine with an A.R.M.S.® #51 CV A1A2 S.I.R.® System w/ EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight -Model 512A65. Fits Great! NO MODS! My next build will include an A.R.M.S.® #58 M MOD S.I.R.® System on a DPMS AP4 Panther Carbine.

For the longest time thre was only one model that worked with the EOTech. It is good that they have canged this. It is still a bad idea IMHO to mount an optic over your HG's though.

C4

The EOTech is actually mounted on the upper rail portion that goes over the carrying handle. That is where I prefer it. If I need to use irons for longer distance, I just look through the channel between the carrying handle and the SIR system. It is very easy to do and requires no extra effort.
