*time out -- I don't particularily like the SIR -- I've had three (and none now) I was just posting a pic as requested.
If someone searches for my opinion on it.... |
LOL, sorry Kevin. I knew you had some and saw the pic so I figured you were a fan (sorry to insult you). Would you mind sharing why you got rid of them? C4 |
How about we just post pics of SIR rails, and leave the SIR rails suck discussions for another thread?
Yup. See thread title. |
And what does this have to do with the thread title? |
Wow, nice rifles bro And thanks to those who actually posted pics. |
Nice pic! C4 |
one of the reasons i got rid of mine was cause of the weight.
-didnt have problems with running a light cause i either used the m900 or a tape switch -vertical grip again wasnt a problem since i was using the m900 -plastic bottom never gave me problems to consider it a problem -dont like the eotech so that would never give me a problem -it was the easiest freefloat i ever installed |
Hit the more bro Think the SIRS is heavy, try the M1A EBR (12+ lbs) out in the field looking for hogs |
Kev, what is that collar around the PRI front sight behind the BR suppressor? MN |
i had a lot more gear on mine than what you have pictured on yours im a gear whore and went overboard with it. i try to keep my arms sir rifles free of the unnecessary stuff now |
GearWhore, stick to the essentials mi amigo |
This isnt true. There are a staggering 12 models of the SIR, and all of them are Bi-Level except four. The #45M, 45C, 46C and #51A2. All other SIRs are bi-level, and you can use the EoTech. If you so choose you can mount the EoTech on the #50C, #50M, #53M, #53MVR, #58M, #58mod, #59M and #59C. |
Roger Neil. It has been awhile since I have looked at the Sir system so I was not aware that they have added new models. I still think that mounting an optic over the HG's a poor idea at best which has is one of the reasons I have always stayed away from them. C4 |
I just got a SIR last year and I would not get rid of it for nothing else. I like other systems too, but the SIR cools off like nothing else. I would post pics if I had my cam.
PS Not long ago if you did'nt have a SIR you sucked around here. |
The QD Collar for the BR can. It keeps the issued FH and the collar drops on. the can screws onto the collar. |
Thanks for the info. Never saw one for sale in Finland... Custom made? I´m more interested AU suppressors anyway, though both come from same company AFAIK. MN |

M4A2_L073754 -- nope BR made - the specific model was done for the C7/C8/M4/M16 model of dimesnions we sent them. Rather than fully hi-jack the thread www.canadiantactical.ca
They have pics and details on it. |

I have a DPMS Panther Carbine with an A.R.M.S.® #51 CV A1A2 S.I.R.® System w/ EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight -Model 512A65. Fits Great! NO MODS! My next build will include an A.R.M.S.® #58 M MOD S.I.R.® System on a DPMS AP4 Panther Carbine. |
For the longest time thre was only one model that worked with the EOTech. It is good that they have canged this. It is still a bad idea IMHO to mount an optic over your HG's though. C4 |
Kisara or the 36C? |
The EOTech is actually mounted on the upper rail portion that goes over the carrying handle. That is where I prefer it. If I need to use irons for longer distance, I just look through the channel between the carrying handle and the SIR system. It is very easy to do and requires no extra effort. |

Damn I am going to get an A.R.M.S S.I.R. when i get my RRA. I just like the way ti looks and form what I have read on this thread it helps out alot for cooling purposes. Just one question there are ones made for A4 uppers right?
some companies call them A3 uppers, some call them A4. Either way, they are all flat tops. And yes, All SIR systems except one, are made for the flat top.
Nope |
Thanks for the info. And gus my Steelers are going to crush the Ravens.
Sadly, I think you're probably right! First two games they looked like total crap. |
The 36C is Kisara! 36C=boobies |
Thanks for the info. I´ll have to take closer look on there. MN |
Ummmmmmmmmmm........................ No. |
UMMMMMM, OK, Maybe Kisara is his handle, or name, but 36C....Uh, well, I dont see a swan sleeve in that pic, mmmkay. |
