They do - get the 'England' Mags and you've got a steel version of the USGI magazine. |

How about a programmable electronic optic that uses a CCD for the lens an an LCD display screen, and runs off AA batteries (including NiMH).
Such an electronic optic would allow a variety of reticles, reticules of any color, allow for zoom (variable magnification), and would be IR sensative (so a Surefire with an IR filter lens would give you cheap NVG capability). Funny thing is this technology is available NOW, and found in most digital cameras. |

Dammit - I read the whole thread to see if anyone had said it, and there you were, almost last... So, +1 |

The best part is the Shirke is not even real.
. . . . . Psst: It's not spelled correctly! |

How about a modular upper that allowed barrel changes like the LMT MRP and included multiple rail lengths like the carbine, mid-length and rifle length MRF units from Troy? Multiple barrels (10.5, 14.5, 16.25, 18, 20 ) - in your choice of twist and caliber (5.56/6.8) with or without standard front sight base. Pack it all in a Starlight case with room for my lower.
While I'm at it.. Where is the 1.5-4 Nightforce scope with illuminated reticle? |
I'd say a modular quick-connect on the upper reciever to swap barrel lengths in a jiffy. They could sell them as 'kits.'
How about a ninja star launcher? |
But But.... I was gonna say that. I'd settle for a .260 upper... |
Combine that with a set of those old iGlasses or something along those lines. Look down, shoot down, and you could do it from the hip! O' my. What would Dianne Frankenstein say (as she was having her heart attack at the mere sight of such an awesome firearm)? |

A delta ring that threads back on an inner sleeve about 3/4" to make it easier to remove and replace handguards. (kinda like the way you attach a reel to a fishing rod). This would do away with the weld spring, too.
With the option of 1in7 and 1in9 twist rates. |

Thats what I meant to say |

who had the tree that grows them |

I'm making my own. Taking a 20" Pencil barrel & cutting it down to dissy length. |

+2. You can keep the Semi-Only crap. I ONLY want Select-Fire. Unfortunately, I'm poor and the release of the Shrike will drive RR prices even closer to 20K, meaning I'll never legally own an M16. |
That would be really easy to make, and it's a good idea. It could be made very small and designed to attach to the handguards in an out of the way place. I have another idea and I'm not sure if anybody makes it: A detachable fixed front sight designed to mount to a quad rail and be at the right height. I know RRA makes one for gas blocks with a 1913 rail, so a quad rail version wouldn't be too far off. |

Isn't that what www.mgimilitary.com/qcb.htm is? |

A HUD - Heads Up Display unit setup inside an Aimpoint the counts how many rnds you have fired. Sort of like the trip distance option in a car.
Each time the rifle would be fired, the recoil would trip the counter. -You could set it at the begining of each range session to count how many rnds were used that day. -It would also have a button that you could hit each time you insert a mag, telling you how many rounds you have left, or have fired. It would be a good application in the field. Troops wouldn't have to guess how many rnds they fired because it would right in front of them. |
That's true, but I meant real USGI, not British GI mags, made by Colt or other USGI contractors. Plus, they don't make em in 20rd as far as I'm concerned. How about this, 20rd USGI mags that are made of steel, that'd be sweet..I think. |

CQB 2021
The "smart gun system": A non IR laser that attaches to your weapon with an interface on the pistol grip that relays point of impact information to a set of goggles with your choice of target design (dot, cross hair, arrow & dot, rtc.) The goggles could have a quick zoom to act as a scope/ binocs/ sight correction all in one. A real heads up display. If your weapon is pointed outside your field of view you could have a nice little blinking arrow at the side of your goggles. The military could test it for us and eventually upgrade to just plugging the thing into the side of yer head. Once they upgrade we could reap the benefit of a cheap and tested platform. That is what I want. |

A DAMN CONDOM!!!!! So they wont multiply.... |

I'd vote for a two piece bbl nut so we could FF our guns w/o removing the FSB and muzzle device. It could be done IMHO.

Ameetec-Arms was selling some 20rd steel mags awhile back. |

+1 in both 5.56 and 6.8SPC |

What part of "USGI" don't ppl get? |
The part that makes it matter I guess. If you read through the thread, most of the stuff people posted is stuff that just plain doesn't exist without having it custom manufactured. For example my 1:8 18" midlength govt. profile barrel is something that isn't available without having a custom shop produce it for you. Steel magazines, to GI specs, that by all accounts function fantastically are available. |

a license that lets me unleash the bullet hose on liberal protesters.

yes it does. an order will go out this week, I'm thinking. |
Now that would be a must have. |
I guess I should have said and priced like YHM. |

An AR in 338 Lapua that works and functions like an AR, not like the AR 30
Y'know, a 20 gauge shell just about perfectly fits an AR mag... |
LMT BUIS or ARMS#40 that attach with a right-side throw lever.
I was thinking .410 due to capacity potential. You could easily fit 10 or more in the same package as a 30rd 5.56 mag |

They have something like that. www.rasestock.com/ Hope this helps. |
