Almost one year ago I took delivery of my first AR, a Bushy A3 Shorty Carbine.  It has remained mostly stock, except for the Hogue Grip, Xpress Sights rear apeture, fake telestock and M4 handguards.  Then came the RRA M4 that looks like it was dragged through the EE with a crap magnet.

Now today I take delevery of a new 20" A3 upper to put on another RRA lower I've had for a month.

What's wrong with me, I can't stop.  Help me please, I'm weak, so weak, so, so weak.

Well you never really get control of it.  When you hit 10 ARs then you start slowing down.  But then you pickup a taste for M1As.  Then 1911s.  Well it never really stops.  There really is no hope.

Yes, welcome to the group. You know your a member of our 12 Step program when you can:
1) field strip and re assemble an AR in 12 Steps
2) wake up and walk exactly 12 Steps from your bed to the gun safe
3) you have fabricated 12 ways to rationalize your uncontrollable purchases
4) etc.

"dragged through the EE with a crap magnet."

LMFAO! When my first AR was a build-it-yourselfer, I knew I was done for. Now I've built four of the little sh*ts, and have plans for a couple more. ARs have taken over my safe; my lone AK-74 is looking pretty worried!

The only cure for Black Rifle fever is to ride it out and hope it doesn't kill your wallet in the process. :-)

How did this happen? You ask.

Well, you’ve been hanging out here for a year now. This site will only serve to agitate your condition, you’ll find no help here.

Congratulation on the new rifle though.

Best regards, J

Thanks guys, it's true, I logged on here a year ago and within a week, I had purchased an AR from a vendor on the EE.  Since then, every lower, upper, sight, accessory, doo-dad, knick-nack and widget I've purchased has come from a vendor or member on the EE.  Is it subliminal messages?

Don't get me wrong, when I say "crap" I'm talking about quality stuff, Aimpoint, KAC, ARMS etc..  But the more stuff I add, the more I want.  Now I need an M5 RAS and a TA31F for the 20" so I can have a USMC A4gery.

Whats funny is that the more I add to the M4, the more I find myself drawn to the Bushy for it's simplicity.

The only real problem I have found, is that with all the choices, now it takes me an hour to decide which one leans against the headboard at night.

It doesn't get better - only worse...

19 ARs (in 6 different calibers) - fully 10% of my total collection!  There used to be MUCH more variety in my firearm purchases, then I found this site... heck, you know the rest...

And we haven't even been bitten by the Class III bug yet... [shock]

The only way the bug ends is when you've killed your wallet, maxed every credit card you've got, borrowed every last penny you can get from anyone who'll loan you money to feed your addiction......

And even then, it doesn't end.  It just kinda of backs off a little, but its always there looking for your spare change, etc.  [:D]

Amen brother.
And reloading, I have so much reloading crap i.e. neck turners, different presses, three sets of 308 dies...that if I averaged it out, it cost me about 5 bucks per round when I reload.

I must say this site has saved me a ton of money, I only had to spend about 30K to get those savings.

HardShell:

Six calibers? I'm guessing 5.56, 7.62x39, .308, 9mm and .22 are all in there. What's the last magic one?

5.56, .22LR, 9mm, .17 Remington, 7.62x39mm, & 5.45x39mm (a.k.a. .21 Genghis)...

FWIW, I'm dying to build a .50 Beowulf - probably my next project after the SEAK...

Hi, my name is mongo, and I too am an AR-15 addict.  Within a year I went from one, lonely 20" Bushmaster Postban Target to 5 ARs, two M4's, a 20" DPMS HBAR that I bought for absolutely no reason, and a preban carbine.  None of the rifles resemble what I purchased in form or value.  The crap magnet has hit me in a big way.  Sadly one of the M4's and the DPMS had to go to buy something....wish I could remember what it was......pretty sure it was expensive......OH YA......how about the thousands of dollars in upper parts I have so that I can build just about anything imaginable.

Hardshell...
I'm at nineteen also...223, 300 whisper, 37mm flares (DPMS M37 upper), 22LR, 9mm, 458 SOCOM...it's like being addicted to heroin, but having something in the safe to show for it when you get done with your weekly detox.

After the vacation, I have pictures.  After I buy guns, I have, well...  more guns!

That can be very dangerous, some of those rifles are very heavy; if it were to slip and hit you in the head you could be looking at a concussion, or worse… A broken scope.

Like az-ar said, you should check out the AK side of the site; there’s so much more money to be spent over there.

I also take it you haven’t been bitten by the M14 or FAL bug.

You should probably check out:

FAL Files and Battle Rifles

You’re all the way across the country and I can hear that sucking sound in you bank account right now.

Best regards, J

Ain't that the truth.  If you think AR's are addictive, just wait 'till the Class III bug bites you in the ass.  Then you're really f*&ked; they're way more addictive and the price tags generally have a few too many zeros at the end.

...ain't that right, Gus?

I got a RRA upper with a Bushy HBAR barrel.  I got it from Imposter on the EE.  I think he has another one he's trying to get rid of.
