I reccomend staying away from the tall loop pictured in Shivans post. I always scraped my knuckle when doing malfunction clearance. I prefer the low mounted ring for a snap hook.

I saw a lot of troops doing this on the news in Iraq.. so its must not be that bad...
but I have no pic.. One part of the sling goes round the butstock.. the other goes thru the carry handle.. saw video of them doing nothing < just standing around in one of the towns early on> and it worked great .. weapon just lays there by their side waiting to be used.. |

It's not as close as it looks. You must have some awfully meaty hands if you can scrape on that ring using the PRI latch.....I don't even come close and I have fairly large hands. To each; his own I guess. |
