I am a longtime lurker and love the board, especially the pics!  Here's my question:  I am a Federal Agent and currently own a postban AR-15 which I purchased privately.  I would like to put a collapsible stock on it and a flash suppressor.  The postban weapon is not really for duty use in the sense that I do not carry it for raids, etc. as I am issued an actual M-4 or SMG for these purposes when the need arises (in other words, the M-4 and SMG are not take home items).  

However, the postban AR CAN be articulated to be used for duty in the sense that I practice with it on my own to remain proficient (like I said, the M-4 is not a take home item).  I simply want my personal AR to be configured as close to my agency's M-4's (sans full auto of course) as possible.  Anyone have any ideas on this one or would I just be better off buying a LEO only lower.  Thanks!

Get LEO lower or wait until 9/14/04

Will they let you take the M4 out for practice. Also how do they expect you to respond to a gun call when your off duty. Go the station first. Bad policy if you ask me.

LEO or not you are not allowed to make a post ban assault weapon. You must buy one that a firearms manufacturer made, and provide the Dept. request letter for it's purchase.
