I'm trying to figure out how to remove the stock from the buffer tube on my M4 preban. Its a 4 position stock.

If its a pre-ban (with a working mechanism) then you simply tighten the round nut under the little lever thingy. Then squeeze the lever like you normally would and slide it apart. tex78

The nut may be pinned onto the screw, so you most likely won't be able to turn it. Instead, you can remove it by doing the opposite of what you do to collapse it. Instead of squeezing the "handle" in, lift it out, away from the buffer tube. This will pull the pin out far enough for you to slide the stock off the buffer tube.
