with a certain upper I have the casings eject but not with much force, the don't even hit the deflector behind the ejection port, what should cure this problem? if I just leave it it seems like it would become unreliable.

I also checked my gas tube, carrier key, and extractor, the gas port is also enlarged to .08? from .067? to cure a past short stroking problem.

upper is 14.5in BM with brake and ammo used was UMC + federal xm193

thanks for any info

Put in a new ejector spring and see what happens. How many rounds fired in the upper?

Bushy still uses the original strength extractor spring and blue insert on all their pieces. This does cause ejection problems on some of the short barrel jobs. Go to the Wolff Gunsprings website, and get a couple of their HD extractor springs. www.gunsprings.com The springs are cheap, and if it doesn't solve the problem you haven't spent much[:D]

I and a friend are having a similar problem. Have already changed the extractor and ejector, no go. Then I changed the entire bolt, no go. Sometimes they stovepipe, so I really need to get this figured out.

I had the same problem. Even after new bolts, ejectors, etc... It appears I have a rough chamber. On a local AR experts recommendation I wrapped some scotch-brite around a small dowel and chucked it in a drill. Added some oil to the scotch-brite and polished the chamber. It really shined it up. I have yet to shoot it since, but I will let you know the results.
