Just got an ACE Skeleton stock from CMMG (thanks for the good service) and am having a little trouble with what should be an easy task.  I can't get that top screw out of the A2 stock for the life of me.  All I have is hand tools, and my screw driver keeps walking out of the groove on me.  are there any tricks to this, or is it brute force?  I thought I'd stop and ask before I destroy something.  Thanks, I'll post when I get it installed.

I know what you mean.  I f'd up my Bushy's screw doing this.  The trick is to have a screwdriver that's head is as wide as the groove itself.  It does require some force but you should be able to handle it.

Yeah, get a big screwdriver.

Mine came off fine, luckily.

This might sound a little off the wall but it works.

1st) Use a large (hollow ground is best) screwdriver that just fits.  Place the muzzle on the floor on something soft.  While standing, grab the rifle between your legs, (told you this sounds weird!) and use one hand to push down on the screwdriver and the other to turn.  Clamp a vise grips (or use a square shafted screwdriver w/ a wrench) on the screwdriver if you need extra torque.

2nd) Buy extra buttstock screws to replace the one you mangled with the first attempt.

the screw has locktite on it. that's why it won;t budge. i poured some rubbing alcohol in and it loosened up the locktite on mine.
