I bought some stripper clips recently, but they don't seem to work very well.

I tried them with both USGI and British Mags. Also, I am using the standard "adapter thingy" that came with the strippers. I could not get the ammo to feed for anything. The stripper clip would just bow, and bind on the case rims. What's the secret here?

Push down as close to the clip as possible.  Otherwise, you're just adding torque that will bind it all up.

Another trick is to use the edge of an ammo can or desk to push down the stripper clip with the mag.

I have noticed some are harder than others, but if you follow the advice given, you should be ok.

Me too.  I had all mine on stripper clips, and my go-to ammo still is,  but my target ammo will all be Lula loaded into mags ahead of time from now on.  Then I'll just lula at the range.

"Then I'll just lula at the range."

be sure to watch your consonants, people may think it odd if you hula at the range.

The beta c mag loader is the best with stripper clips.  Seen here on the left

It is quicker than the lulu with already loaded ammo on strippers.  I use it with my ammo loaded on strippers.

But now I no longer put ammo on strippers because the lulu is so great.

I've noticed a difference between brands of ammo too. It seems as if some brands have a thicker rim which binds in the stripper clip.

I always use USGI ammo and strippers. They work fine with a little practice. If you aren't already, try using the bottom joint of your thumb(where it meets the web) and push down keeping your hand close to the base of the rounds. If you can get them all in with one push that's great but don't always count on it. Sometimes you need to stop and go to get the stripper loaded without problems. It could take three quick pushes in all to get a binding stripper loaded without incident. Usually at the point of a bind I back off the pressure and then quickly resume the downward force, this works well for most people.

Word.  The C-Mag stripper clip loader runs circles around the LULA.  The best $25 accessory I've ever bought for my ARs.
