That's what I said.
Nobody abuses barrels like the military, with full auto drills etc.....
If these guys are getting 9600 rounds out of chrome lined barrels before seeing problems, even while shooting full auto strings, I don't think you have much to worry about prior to shooting as many rounds.
One can't come near the sustained rate of fire from a semi auto, as a rifle on full auto or fast three round burst fire. No matter how fast you think you're pulling or bumping the trigger, etc.....
But heck if you're worried about it, keep a round count and replace the barrel at +/- 5000 rounds or so. That way you wont have to worry about it.
As for heat buildup per shooting session, this is a difficult question to answer.
If you start to see the barrel glowing red, or bullets seem to be going in all different directions downrange, you know its getting hot and are in danger of wearing it out or doing damage.
Me, if I can touch the barrel I don't worry about it. But then I save the rapid fire for when I really need it.
Besides that shoot heck out of it, if it makes you happy.
If it breaks or the barrel wears out you just buy you a new one.
