I have $1200.00 to get a new AR15. What should I get? I just got out of Varmint hunting so I don't need a looooong gun. Help me out guys! I was thinking of an M4gery.

Get yourself a nice M 4gery, they seem to be all the rage.
How bout one of those ultra lights from Bushmaster.
Or one of their new Carbon rifles.
Or maybe some add ons for your wife's new toy? [:D]

Well, $1200 would get you into the ar15.com SEBR AR10 Carbine or rifle.  Just a thought.

You'll be fed a thousand different ideas and configurations.  If that's your budget, start breaking down items/features you want on an M4gery and order it.

I'm sure the majority will agree, an AR15 carbine should be in EVERYONE's inventory.  Accessories are tools that work for some and not for others for a variety of reasons.  Just remember that a very simple set up with iron sights is still one azz kickin' carbine.

IMHO, the best accessories one could have on a carbine is a good light, foregrip, and red dot.  The rest is tactical fluff.  Cool nonetheless!

Well I just went through this but with a bit smaller budget. How's something like this sound (sounds nice to me [;)] :

Bushmaster M4A3 (optional w/ or w/out Mini-Y comp) ~$800 w/ tax
CQB sling ~$40
1000rnds ammo ~$190
(5)Extra mags ~$75
Samco M33 handguards ~$90

Total cost ~$1195

Then save your next couple paychecks and get yourself an Aimpoint and tactical light on the handguards. Should be a relatively "simple", yet very effective, multi-purpouse rig....

I just need the Aimpoint and light for mine [:D]

ADCO Reprofiled and remuzzlebreaked, Chrome lined M-4 upper.

Rock River lower from ADCO.

EOTech 551 from SWFA.

ARMS#40 from MSTN.

Stock Sling attacment point from GG&G

Singlepoint sling from CQB Solutions

You should be able to get all that and still have a little change left over from your $1200.00

Well, if you are talking about the $1200 being the budget for the gun (not including ammo), save up another $75 and go to:www.onpointfirearms.com
Check out their Ultimate Tactical Solution.
Pretty much everything you could want.

Wow, that's a nice rig for a nice price (assuming it comes with the Aimpoint?) [thinking]

Buy a teenage crack-ho.

Seriously, start off with any good makers 20", A3 style.  You buy more uppers as you go along.

SEBR AR10 carbine or you can build a preban M4 for that price.

Yup! My business partner came up with this rifle as his basic needs rifle. He is using a RRA M4gery with the Aimpoint (included) and the Aimpoint QRP mount coupled with an ARMS #40 BUIS. We have shot this carbine fairly extensively and we have been very happy with the result. You get to ick your choice of a RRA M4gery or a Bushy Lightweight. I personally prefer the RRA. Shoot us an email if interested. This setup works!

That's a pretty nice rig for $1,200.

Just a thought if you want to go the used route.

I have seen preban Essential Arms lowers on the board for late at under $600, some other brands with stock for $700.  $500 buys you a new DPMS preban M4 upper.  Think about it.  Sure you need to buy a sight, but I've seen used Aimpoints for $200 and less and Arms 40 sights for $80.

If preban is not your thing, that $1,200 rig is fair.
