Man that was fun.  Never shot it further than 100 Yds before.  I only had the SR-1 target (100 Yd reduced NRA target) but I was able to hit it at 500 Meters.  I used my 20" bushmaster with A2 sights.  I was a guest at the club and hope to go back there again.  It's only about 10 Miles from work so we did it at lunch time! Yee Haa

Very nice having a range of that distance close by, I have a hard time going past 200 yards around me.

At noon?  Be glad you don't live in Arizona then.

BTW, I have only shot at 300 yards so far at steel, but that is some good shooting with iron sights, especially at 500!

I never shot over 150 yrds. I would like to try 300. Hard to get that much open around here. We don't have a range unless you classify a pasture as one, then you have to shoot around the cows.

If I'm playing at 500 with 223, I usually like to have a friend along with a 20 x scope to help be correct onto target. I have been able to get some good hits on a 24 inch gong. The AZ shooting isn't too bad under a covered shooting bench but desert shooting gets painful. Have to wear gloves to handle the guns.

Here, here... Your ammo bag would have gone off faster than you could have pulled the trigger

Nice Pic!  I have a 6x18x44mm scope that I put on my 20" bushmaster, but did not have time the other day.  I still need to get a nice bipod however.
