I have a buddy with an FFL and we are having problems finding a place to purchase a Rock River AR.

Anyone know where we can get one quick?

You can't. I was going for an RRA but ended up grabbing an Olympic instead as my fall-back choice because I couldn't find anyone with the RRA I wanted that had less than 3-6 weeks of wait.

It would probably be a good idea to tell us what state your in.  Your location is listed as USA.  That is a little hard to narrow down.

In Maryland, The Gun Shack, Gilberts Guns(Overpriced), Atlantic Guns(Overpriced).

Ordered a 20" HBAR almost 5 weeks ago from the Gun Shack for $200 less than the other guys.

I am still waitng, but a lot of people have told me it will be worth it.

Go to the Equipment Exchange part of this board. I have bought from ADCO firearms, and there are several other dealers which come highly recommended. Prices are competive and shipping are fair-big plus ADCO shipped ASAP.

Hello,

I purchased my AR directly from RRA.  But, the waiting period is between 4 to 8 weeks.  Mine took 7 weeks to arrive.  But, having said that it is worth the wait.  RRA is top notch.

I am not sure if you have their info but here goes:

www.rockriverarms.com
Phone: 1-309-792-5780
Fax:   1-309-792-5781
Email: [email protected]

When you call or write ask for Steve.  He is great and knows a lot.  He always seemed willing to want to help me anyway.  Your FFL dealer can order and have the AR shipped directly to him.  Anyway, goodluck and I hope this was useful to you....

Take care,

_Lloyd

I recommend ADCO...

I had the lower sent to a dealer and the upper sent to my door... [:)]

Hey thanks for all the replies. This will be my first AR and I hear Rock River is the way to go.

BTW I am in South Dakota if that means anything.

I'm checking out the links you guys gave me.

Thanks again!

I went to ADCO and Sabelco and if they are in order about how long do you think it would take to get one? Is there still the 4-8 week wait?

Thanks again!

I'd run a search at www.gunbroker.com

I recently picked up a complete RRA lower ($209 + shipping) from a shop in GA that lists there quite a lot.  They shipped as soon as they got the signed FFL and were great to deal with.

Aimless,

I have decided on a 16" LE Tactical CAR A4 I think.

If I don't go that route either a 16 or 18" Varmint rifle.

I do alot of varmint busting and it will be used as my new pickup gun and a 'yote gun in the winter.

I have a Mini 14 now and it is 100% reliable but inaccurate (Thats a whole nother story that we won't get flaming on here ;) )

I just want a short, accurate, fast rifle I can throw some quality optics on and be able to shoot from 10 yards out to 400 yards.

I've gotten Rock River uppers and lowers from ADCO and Norala Tactical.

ADCO has a great website, and you can see what's in stock and what isn't.  Also, cruise the EE...I had a 16" Rock River varmint upper on a Rock River lower I was selling for $650.

RRA makes a great product...you'll be happy with it.

If ADCO has what you want in stock, you can order it on Monday and be shooting it by Thursday...very quick service.

I'm an ArmaLite guy - not RRA.  However, Pete answered an email question I had about 10:00PM one Sunday night !!  If ever I buy a new RRA it will come from Pete.

IF I bought a Lower and and Upper all I'd have to do is pin them together right? I am new to these ARs so exuse the dumb questions.

Thanks

Rambo, I found www.rbprecision.com to be fantastic.  I priced them and found their RRA products to be less expensive than others.  I had my M4gery upper in a week and a half, including shipping time!  They are a top notch organization.  I will always use them in the future.

Bigbore is right on with his advice...even a 16" Varmint upper is heavy...and I really don't know what the extra weight gives you in terms of accuracy.  Unless you're planning on using an Aimpoint, the rail on the UTE is kinda high for optics placement, from what I hear...so you're probably paying for something you're not gonna use.

Pete at Legal Transfers, who can be found on the Industry Page.

I have done 5 {?} transactions with him so far.  All were perfect.

US Gov't marked lower
24" Varmint Upper
M4gery custom upper
RRA Lower
Telestock

Each came as promised, except the special order on the Varmint upper.  There was never a promised date, it was at the will of RRA.  It came in 8 weeks.

Everything else was damn near 2 day service, for less than you normally pay for 2 day service.

He is THE BEST, by far.
