Dont have the rifle with me right now... I need to take some new pics though. I've made a few changes. That rifle now has a Vltor Clubfoot and a Dieter Sling. Maybe later this week?

Scott, that is the finest M-4 type gun I've ever seen. That is the ideal carbine. My favorite reddot, a great flashlight, basic pistol grip..... If the AR is sexy then that gun of yours is pornographic...

Best I could do for a side view. You said PORN so I gave teh the full deal. It doesn't show up so well in the smaller size.  If anyone wants it reduced lemme know or I'm sure a mod will take care fo it themselves.

I have bigger pics, desktop size if you want. Only thing I need is a Surefire and a few small things. And a collapsible stock when eth AWB ban dies. [:)]

In the last pic(the BIG one) did you only load 2 rounds in those mags to make it look like they were loaded? Trying to get sneaky? [nono]
With 3 rounds I think ya coulda pulled it off. BTW nice pair! Ya got some good ones there.

Edited to add: That pic is my new background.

BTW  I also pu the last pic up as my desktop wall paper!! Awsomes picture! Matter of fact, thats an A2 stock right? I am getting a tele stock, but I kinda like that setup!! What do you guys think? Should go with an A2 stock or the tele?
Link Posted: 7/21/2003 6:21:18 PM EDT
[#19]
Tivoli: You caught me. [:)] But all my mags are kept laoded now. So don't worry about me. I got 220 rounds ready to go.

Minuteman: My thought was this: Since I have a post ban anyways why put a FAKE telestock on there that serves no purpose. The A2 stock is far more comfortable to shoot with than a telestock as it is. At least with a real tele stock it serves a purpose. That said I will go to a telestock  if/when the AWB dies. But the A2 stock is more comfortable and you get the claening kit storage space in the but. AND you can beat heads with it. [:D]

Its a coat rack that came with the house.  Took it from the hall and stuck it here in my office.  Fits 2 AR15's on it perfectly.  The one on the bottom where the m4 is and one across the top.  I like to keep it closeby just in case i need it

The link works now, first time trying to get a pic posted, I had to change the name to get rid of '&' and '+' signs so that the link would work. From what I gather, for the post to show the picture directly does the link have to end with '.jpg' ??

edited to add: Ah Ha got the pic thing...

These are crappy pics, but I just got it today.

The RASII weighs only slightly more than M4 handguards with a GTS rail attached.  I'm very impressed with their light weight.

I also tried the M2 on the hump w/o the spacer but it was too close.  Form follows function, right?

Okay, so my buddy mentioned that the forward mount has an adverse effect on the nice magwell center of gravity of the AR15.  I tried some alternatives and found that this was true.

After about 20 minutes of exhaustive T&E, I concluded that the following was the best configuration for my needs.  It strikes a good compromise b/w being forward enough, yet maintains the very good balance of the rifle.

You can see how this compares to a receiver mount with an #22M68 extension.

You can see how this placement compares to a forward receiver mount with the straight riser.  Admittedly, this receiver mount is probably one notch too far forward, but it never gave me any problems (note the short purchase of the forward half of the #22M68).

HTH

PS  Sorry my pics suck.  They're down and dirty digital pics, taken with a digital videocam w/ a separate still photo chip (which is not of high quality).  It's a great digital videocam, but only functions "okay" as a digital camera.
