My wife is going to buy me an ARMS #40 for my B-day next month. Then I will be sending this barrel to KKF next week to have it chopped to 14.5 and have a Vortex installed. Will post before and after pics when the job is done.

You are a "Luckystiff". Nice rig. You might want to keep the wife too! She sounds like she knows what to get a guy for his B-day.

VERY NICE!!  I'd hate to see your VISA bill, though hehehe.

How is the weight with the lightweight barrel (before the SIR and the ACOG)?  I've got the VLTOR stock...it feels a little lighter than the A2, but I don't know for sure.

I think my next build will be a lightweight...I had hoped to do the model 1 kit as a lightweight, but the barrels were backordered and I got impatient.

Why did you decide to have the barrel shortened? It looks like a good setup already.

Thanks guys.

Fenian, I do not know the exact weight of the rifle w/o the ACOG and SIR. But I have another carbine that is paterned after the Diemaco C8A1 and it is VERY light. I think it is around 5.5 lbs.
Here is a pic of that rifle.http://community.webshots.com/photo/29311300/41323505zviuKT
My C8A1gery sold me on the light wieght barrel. I still have my M4 upper but I built my SIR light wieght to replace it. With the light wieght barrel and all the trick stuff on it, it "feels" to weigh what my M4 did with all the toys but without the SIR. So I traded the M4 barrel for the SIR. Now the math kids will most likely crunch the weights and give you a true answer but this is my experience. The rifle ballences just behind the vert. grip of the M900 and the in front of the mag well.

I am in love with 14.5 inch 1/7 light weight barrles. I found a Colt made barrel at the Reno gun show a while back. If I could find another one or get my hands on a Diemaco C8 barrel I would not be cutting this one. I just love the 14.5. It looks proportionate and correct and feels right when I handle them.

If it was a flattop I would settle for your C8. Its a really nice looking piece. But I have started to really like optics.

Yeah, yeah, I know already. "Get Both"

I can e-mail the pics to anyone who can host them. I use webshots because that was the first free pic hosting sight I found.

Does anyone have any recomindations as to another free pic host that will let me [img  to this site? Webshots will not let you.

I use www.boomspeed.com

Free for the first 1meg, or you can pay $6 monthly for the "upgrade" to 100meg.  The secret is that if you accidentally upload more than 1meg, they "lock" your account until you pay.

Just don't go over the limit and you'll be fine.  It even has a "available space" meter for those who don't like math (like me).  Free linking from outside (great for selling on ebay) and no banner ads, no popup crap, no "boomspeed.com" logos on your pics either.

One of the last truly free and hassle free hosting services.
