The other day i was at the range with a guy with a Colt M4, and damn! His little carbine has a MUCH bigger shockwave than my 20" Bushy. Even the shooter felt a nice strong shockwave!

Here is what i want: I want to know which post-ban Muzzlebreak is the loudest and most importantly has the biggest shockwave for the shooter and the people standing around him. I'm saving up for an M4 type (preferably bushmaster).

What do you guys recommend? Y-comp? AK-type? mini y-comp? Any other suggestions? Keep in mind that i'm looking for the strongest shockwave, and secondly sound.
Thanks

From what I've seen, any "brake" will give you a "wave".
I would get any bushy you want and then send it off to Mike at www.ohiorapidfire.com to have a fake flash suppressor put on there. The work Mike dies is great, and comes with a quick turn around.

The Mini-y is by far the worst brake out on the market as far as re-directed blast goes.

The Mini Y is a good shocker, but in my honest opinion, it can't hold a candle to the Smith Comp, which it looks like it was modeled after.  The Smith Comp was actually parting hair of the guys on either side of the shooter.  We tried with the Mini Y but couldn't get the same results.

I HAVE THE AK BRAKE ON MY BUSHY AND IT BOTHERS EVERYONE WITHIN 15' OF ME. IT IS TOO VIOLENT AND LOAD I'M HAVING IT CHANGED ASAP

I know my Sendaro 300 Win Mag with the JP comp can blow full 12 oz soda cans off the bench next to me.
How's that for redirected gas.
Felt recoil is reduced to equal a 243.

If we are talking about other rifles, you should try standing near a .50 cal rifle when it goes off. [BD]

About a month ago, we went out and fired my friends AR30 in .338 Lapua. Talk about loud. Even with plugs and muffs it still felt like it was splitting your skull right down the middle.

"Worst" as in the most blast felt?

Exactly, it works great at reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise though. The only problem with it though is that the shooter can feel the blast as well as people to the side.

A friend of mine has the mini-y on his Bushmaster, and it is the loudest, most annoying thing that I have ever heard on a rifle. Actually drives people from the range.
