Knight's got last place in the military trials for rifles using the AK series 7.62 magazines.  Why do you want one so bad?  The military doesn't.

SF operators I spoke with personally said it was the finest bolt action rifle ever made...

Dirty combloc ammo just doesn't work well in the AR system.

I thought it was a semi?

I'd place my bet on a Springfield 1903 for vintage.

Shaggy,
since you're promoting this......piece of...uh I mean "AR-47" why don't you buy one ??  Well I mean just a lower as that's all they sell, right ??  Then drag one of those spare milling machines out of your garage and make those 'minor' adjustments to your upper.  Then assemble 'your' AR-47, hauler out to the range, tie a string to the trigger, jump behind some sand bags and pull that string !!

Give us a range report will ya ??
-----------------------------------------------

For any of you lamenting the fact that Knight's dropped the SR-47 - the retail price was to be about $4000.  One of their dealers - "Bandit" (Kind of fitting !)- was taking preorders right here on AR15.com.

How many of us would have paid $4000 for an SR-47 ??  I suspect not very many.

The KAC gun may be just the ticket should the AWB be renewed. You can have a good weapon and an almost endless supply of pre-ban magazines to feed it.

5subslr5 -

I wasn't "promoting" it, endorsing it, or commenting on its reliability, efficacy, or value.  If you inferred that from my post, I think you need to go back and re-read - its only 11 words and a URL.  Glockdog said he wanted an SR47, so I merely showed him the only thing on the market that comes even remotely close to the SR47 (and gee-whiz, what did I say in my post?  It ain't an SR-47).  Now maybe you can call up Reed Knight and have him send you an SR47, but for the rest of us mere mortals who aren't as chummy with Reed and still might want a 7.62x39 AR15/M16 that accepts unmodified AK47 mags, the AR47 seems to be the only game in town.  Of course, maybe you'd like to fire up your milling machine and make a better 7.62x39 AR15 lower?  Whats the alternative? Paying top dollar for USA's 7.62x39 franken-mag for a 7.62x39 upper on standard AR15 lower?
