I'd just like to know what you guy's would buy. I have 4 preban's now and i'm looking for a 5th but the prices in eastern P.A. are climbing. For a preban green label A2 (2,500). You could buy a rock river arms flattop with a m4 barrel, Kac ras, kac grip, aimpoint, 10- 30rd mags, sling, case and a year at the range.I could care less about a bayonet lug,the wilson brake is good for brake. And the only thing I'd miss is a collapseable stock. Oh wait and bragging rights.

Bushmaster.
Link Posted: 5/27/2003 2:32:24 PM EDT
If I had 4 PREBANS I would probably just take one and go NUTS with the acessories you mentioned [:D] . But to answer you I pick Armalite 1st then Bushmaster.

ArmaLite.

For me its RRA then BM. Have had both but prefer RRA. Nothings wrong with either.
Link Posted: 5/27/2003 4:20:40 PM EDT
What about NONE OF THE ABOVE? I can't see the justification of the higher price to get a Flash Suppressor, Bayonet lug, and Collapsible stock.(not that I mind anyone else doing it) Although I would Like to have the Stock so the rifle would fit my little one's better. If the AWB goes away, I'd prolly get a Bushmaster, closely followed by RRA

I know, i hate that no-collapseable stock rule. If the rifle is 26" or more who care's

Colt! (I've already got enough Bushies!)
Link Posted: 5/27/2003 5:44:03 PM EDT
SHOULD INCLUDE ARMALITE

I voted Bushy, but I'm torn 50-50 between ArmaLite and Bushmaster... You should remove Oly or DPMS and add a 'real' manufacturer... ArmaLite... [;)]

Actually, Bushmaster should have been removed since we already know they are always going to be better than 60%. The poll should have read what would you get besides a Bushmaster.

I have Bushmasters and Colts. For Pre Bans, nothing comes close to my Colts for fit and finish (love that grey), for Post Bans, I'll take Bushmaster. For me, Bushmaster is now what Colt once was. Just my thoughts.

I have my ABC's (Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt). Actually my Armalite is not an AR15 but rather an AR10T. I'm about to purchase my third AR15 and I think I'm going to get an Armalite. My other AR15s are a postban Bushy and my preban Colt Sporter, both M4gery. while i absolutely love my RRA, i think the brand new m4 upper flattop might be out of spec, i added my SIR to it and it wouldnt line up properly with the SIR, i had to dremel down the point on SIR the stop it from sliding down more in order to install it. while the dremeling is fun and the margin of error is slim it has now cost me value in the SIR if i went to sell it and probably voided any warrenty for it. But like i said i still LOVE my RRA! just wish it was in spec
Link Posted: 5/28/2003 5:06:03 PM EDT
Just bought a RRA lower. Either will mate it with a ArmaLite mid-length upper or Bushmaster upper. I've written bushmaster in a pathetic attempt to persuade them to make a mid-length handguard/gas system(see bushmaster forum for related poll). But if/when that fails I'll prabably get the ArmaLite. It is amazing that the relative upstart, RRA, has such a following.
Link Posted: 5/28/2003 6:28:04 PM EDT
I have heard good things about RRA and they have some interesting configurations and very good prices, so they were my pick. 25th Anniversary Bushy looked pretty cool, but them are big buckeroos they want for that puppy. Already have two NIB postban Colts to go with four preban Colts. (Including a "Colt Carbine" rollmark that is on the EE board with a price increase and no BTT because I am afraid someone might actually try and buy it.)

Only one? Had to pick COLT--but preban only of course. Why? Quality, resale, name, universal recognition. It all still holds true today despite the fact that today's COLT, as a company, stinks. Only one POSTban? Bushmaster. What also stinks is that ArmaLite was shorted out of this poll. But that is spilled milk...

I can't decide, I like them all, and have most.Hard one.Only one? OK Bushy. There I said it.[>:/]

Screw it. I'll take one of each, making sure I don't get a Mess-a-Hesse.
