Is a 1:7 mainly for 62gr ammo?  Can I shoot 55gr (Q3131A)?  I heard that a 55gr out of a 1:7 is not accurate and could break apart at 100 yards.

I'm not into match shooting.  Mainly plinking.  Comments?

The US Military uses 55 grain ammo (M193) and 62 grain (M855) out of their 1/7 rifles... I think you could to... [8D]

I think the 1/7 was chosen as the best overall comprimise (to include the use of M856 tracers which weigh slightly more then the M855).

Just my Canadian $.02... now worth $.014383 US

STP.

1:7 is OK with M193 and Q3131A. Check the ammo FAQ for details. www.ammo-oracle.com

Yes, I highly recommend you take some time and read the ammo FAQ.  There is so much information in there read it twice!  It's a huge help.
