Looking for a good place to shoot in the San Antonio,TX area. Been to alot of the ranges in area but want to find a free (or pay) place to shoot other things besides paper. Only had my AR for about 3 months and would like to really try it out (rapid fire, shooting stuffed animals)willing to travel a bit. Keep the great post's comming this is by far the best site (dont even watch T.V. anymore LOL).

Its been awhile since I shot on a public range is SA.  Camp Bullis does have a range.  Don't remember what they allow.  Also try posting this under the Hometown section under Texas.

As for rapid fire, I have yet to find a place myself.

Camp Bullis is still closed to civilians since Sept 11th, but even then the rules would be pretty strict.

Check out the thread in the Texas section on the Texas Tactical Carbine matches.  Once a month, (usually second Saturday) we shoot IDPA-style with ARs.
