I would like to know what you guys think who would be the best person in a political office that I can send a email/letter to voice my opposition to the renewal of the AWB. I'm not really up to snuff regarding the political scene, but I would like to do as much as I can from my end. I know some will say send a letter to Bush himself, but in reality he'll hever read it. Which of my local/state/reginal politicians has the best chance of seeing my opinion? I'm in NY. Thanks.

John

Every month - send a letter/fax/e-mail to the President, your two Senators, and your representatives. Let them know you're not going away. Remind them, that this wasn't a particularly good piece of legislation 10 years ago, and it hasn't gotten any better.

Start here: http://awbansunset.com/index.html On the left there's a link to Write Your Elected Officals, go there and enter your zip code. You'll see sample letters and your local representatives and how to contact them.

So far it's looking pretty good. However, it's these liberal states like CA, NJ, and NY that are scaring me. The gun owners in these states need to stick it to there senators and state reps.

MarineNP: I agree that we are in a favorable position. However all it will take is some idiot to go postal in a Colombine like manner to put us on the defensive. That is the one turd in the punchbowl that we can do nothing about. I live in Maryland and I will bet that almost all of my Congress criters will vote for the ban.
