I ordered standard carbine handguards and was shipped M4s instead.

What are your opinions of the M4s compared to standards?

Any pics of HBars or M4s with this handguard installed would be appreciated because even with positioning the handguard over the installed handguard I'm having some difficulty visualizing how it would look. I don't want to get carpal tunnel syndrome changing out the guards to see what it would look like if I can avoid it!

I always thought the regular CAR h/g was too
small.
The M-4s are a lot better and insulate
against heat better too.

Thanks scottfn308!
No thanks,varmitgun! [:D]

I originally planned to put the green Cav Arms furniture (Ergo grip and handguards) that I recieved yesterday on my Bushy SLW project gun, which is why I selected the standard carbine handguards. The M4 handguards are just too bulky looking with that thin barrel sticking out.

However, I just installed them on my 16" Colt HBar (with ARFX stock) and they look pretty cool.

The M4 handguard definitely feels more comfortable and doesn't visually overpower the HBar barrel as it does with the SLW.

BTW, I removed the old handguards and installed the M4s singlehandedly with a pair of old drumsticks and 2 cable ties.

So I see!

I have green furniture(M4hanguards and Ergo ambi grip) on my Colt 16"HBAr as of yesterday and will post a pic as soon as I decide if I'm going to leave the ARFX stock alone or cut off the foam overtube and replace it with an OD 550 paracord wrap.

(I called Ace some time ago and asked if they planned a run of OD overtubes. They replied they had no plans in the works because of the large volume of tubes that are manufactured with each run.)
