I have a Colt Lightweight Sporter in 7.62x39 I believe its a pre ban the serial is LH0028xx. I've got a whopping $350 into it and its in very nice shape. I like its shorter barrel and light weight.

I also have a new .223 Bushy with a 20" heavy barrel, flat top model. I have this one sold as its just heavier and longer than what I need. I already have a longer heavier rifle its called an M1A1.

 I would like to get a .223 upper for the Colt. Something with a 16" or 18" barrel. I don't care about flash hiders, just want something with a short handguard and lighter barrel  like the 7.62 upper has. I don't need match accuracy as I have bolt guns for that.

 What do you guys suggest?

You have many options for a new upper, check out the major Mfg's. you can get about anything you want. Also check out Pete he has some nice stuff and is a good guy to deal with, I like the RR preban C/L M4 barrel.

Get a Bushmaster Dissapator upper with a B.A.M.S Free Floater Fore Arm. also add the 3 rail gas block with the flip sight
