I've just purchased a Bushmaster XM15 E2S A3 20" with a fluted barrel.  Before I start looking for a scope & mounts, will the front sight block the field of view or will it blur out?  I was told it will blur out but does anyone have any experience?

Any suggestions on scope and mounts?

Thanks

At any magnification power above 3X the front sight "disappears", so it's not a problem.  I've mounted a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14X40mm on my Bushy A3 with the one-piece mount from Armalite.  It fits great.

The Armalite mount is a good one.  If you find you need more eye relief, get an extended Swan sleeve and some 1" high Weaver type rings (for example, Leupold QRW).

All of these scopes are very good and of approxmiately the same quality (in order of price): Weaver Grand Slam, Nikon Monarch, Bushnell Elite 4200, Leupold Vari-XIII.

I have a Swan Sleeve standard length, and Armalite mount, and a Leupold 3X9...

Awesome.
