Was in one of the local shops today and saw a pre-ban Colt Sporter Target (looked up the serial # to be sure) on consignment. The upper has been replaced with an unknown mfg. 16" upper, and a scope is mounted on the carry handle. Asking price was $950.00. Should I jump at it or walk on by?

I've seen preban Colt lowers alone going for that much. Might be a good project gun. ? -Steve

Thats what I was thinking. Already have the same rifle with the original 20" upper. Kinda rather get a different one to tinker with and keep thie first all original.

I agree, go get it! It might already be sold. Blue label or green?

Blue label. Already have one with the original A2 profile 20" upper.

I recently sold a blue label for 1395.00. If you ever sell of trade it, you'll profit one way or the other.[:D]

I've got to ask it. I'm sure it's a silly question that I should know the answer to already. But what the heck is this talk of colored lables? Where is the lable? On the gun? Thanks! JR

I believe it is the color of the label on the box. Merlin

Labels on the boxes... Green Label is SP1 usually a slab side M16A1 looking lower with large hole front swivel Blue Label is the Sporter with small hole/gam fence. White Label is an ultra rare (made less than 1 year) small hole raised fence all milspec pins with noo sear block. Made when they had to use M16 lowers cause they were short on parts. There are always deviations from the standard but this is usually the case.
