Hey y'all I'm new to AR rifles, just got my first last week. I was thumbing thru a Sinclair catalog and saw the ad for McFarland gas rings for the AR. The write up stated that you need use one of these instead of the usual 3 of the standard type. You can guess my question, do they work as advertised? Better? Worse? How long do they last vs the standard rings? Ect.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Shabo

If it will make you feel better, go ahead [BD]
I've got a few high milage uppers and I have not had to replace the GI gas rings yet.

I'm sure you can find a few folks who say their rifles run better with it than without, I'm just not one of them ;) To each his own.
