Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Mounting scope to Colt flattop

I just picked up a Leupold Vari-X III 1.75-6x32
scope for my Colt flattop carbine. I like the Armalite base with rings(ex0027) but the rings are too far apart and hits the scope bell. So what mount combo will get the scope even with the frount sight and fit on the flattop?

Armalite sells a 2 pice scope mount.  I use it on my AR10. No problems to report.

Since I gather that this is a short scope, you should just get some GOOD extra-high rings.  I'd recommend the ARMS rings if you want quick-detach, or the Badger Ordnance if you're looking for a more permanent mount.
