I'm looking for a scope for IPSC work; basically, either 0-25 yards or 200-300 yards. Since some of the distance shots are partially obscured, accuracy is important, and a typical 1x red dot won't cut it. However, I really would like one for the close courses. My original solution was a Burris 1.5-6x26 illuminated, figuring I could use it as a pseudo-red dot at 1.5x. However, it had 2 major drawbacks:
- the illuminated reticle washed out in daylight, even at maximum intensity
- at 6x, the exit pupil was only 4.33mm, making it hard to get on target.
How bright is the S&B reticle compared to, say, a Reflex, and would the L3 or L9 reticle be better?
