What temperature is a barrel subjected to in the nitriding process?
I read a statement by another maker saying that barrel temper is lost during the nitriding process and I find that hard to believe.
Thanks.

You are likely referring to statements from precision barrel manufacturers where they stated nitride
might cause issues and they recommend you go with someone who knows what they are doing.
Well, we partnered with the absolute best out there - Parker TruTec. They know what they are doing.
While each nitride process is different, they generally are somewhere between 1000 and 1150 degrees. While its possible that one can lose some through hardness,
potentiallly losing two or less points on gun-barrel steel that is normally 28-32 Rc is negligible to picking up 35+ Rc on the external hardness with deep penetration into the steel.
