So I just put together my 300blk SBR and was planning to put the 30SD QD brake that came with my 30SD on it but when I went to test out the threading it looks like either the barrels threads are too long or the muzzle device's is a bit "shallow"...
It stops hard with some noticeable distance to the shoulder of the barrel threads with some distance to go before the shims would be useful...
The minimalist taper mount that came with my Optimus seems to work better...
Anyone have any experience with this?
I'm assuming I'll need a gunsmith if I want to pursue the 30SD or if I want to DIY (my buddy has a geissele rod, bench vice, block, and torque wrench) I could just use the taper mount...
I was hoping to use he 30SD on this build but for ease and sake of time/budget maybe I'll just make it one for the Optimus...
Here's how it lines up and where it stops. The barrel is a LaRue 12" 300blk
