I'm actually not sure, but I think that is the last status update. Unfortunately, the guy who is working on that piece of code is out today, so I will have to get back with you on that. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Below are the details for my form 1 single shot trust (suppressor) filed through Silencer Shop. I completed my fingerprints using their SID kiosk two years ago.

This whole situation sucks. I was about to do my Form 1 for my SBR through SS. Guess I’ll give them a couple weeks to figure things out before I take my business somewhere else.

I received an email reply from SS this afternoon stating the Form 1 service should be available again by the end of the week.

Form 1: Submitted Electronically on 11/18/2018 (Fingerprints Mailed) Now what to do? |

I apologize to everyone for the delay. I have been on vacation since last week.
We developed this whole process in lock step with the ATF, but they changed their requirements with regards to the "I authorize" checkbox on the eForm, after we started submitting them. They have put all of our eForm Form 1's on hold and we have to change our software and process to account for the new process. The only difference is you have to click on the checkbox and sign your name, instead of just the latter. Everyone who has submitted will have to resign the documents and click the checkbox. We have already updated our software, but we are waiting on written approval from the ATF about the new process. We do not know how long this will take, could be 1-2 weeks. In the interim, everyone who has submitted an electronic Form 1 in the last few weeks is being contacted by our sales and compliance teams. This is taking a while, since there are a couple thousand customers in the pool. If you should choose to wait it out and let us submit the correction, we are compensating you with a $75 gift card. If not, we will of course refund the Form 1 fee and we will also refund your tax stamp up front (e.g. you do not have to wait for months for the ATF to send us a refund check for your submission). |

Have all the notifications been made? I haven't gotten a call or email.

Just emailed them to cancel my form 1 and refund to my card. Will update here when its done.
|
|
I’ll wait a little before cancelling. No real value for efiling a F1 right now since the NFA branch is shutdown and nothing is getting approved anyway. Once the govt. gets back up and running, I’ll give them a week to get something worked out, and if not, then I’ll cancel and resubmit on my own.

Got an email from SS yesterday asking me to call them for an update on my form 1.
The guy that answered said they are still waiting for the ATF to approve the form 1 change. |

The perfect storm:
Sometime in October 2018 the ATF changes the previously approved requirements for Silencer Shop electronic Form 1 submissions Silencer Shop now has to update their software code (no telling how complex this software change is) December 27, 2018: Government goes into a partial shutdown which affects the ATF Thank you ATF and politicians for getting us into this mess. I guess I'll just sit and wait patiently for my October 7, 2018 Form 1 purchase to be processed. |
|
Motherfucker.
Just bought another lower and didn't know what the hell was going on when SS said Form 1's were out of stock. |

I asked for a refund and got it next day. I’ll probably try it again when things are back up and running. I’m not in a rush for this.

@SilencerShop - how about a "hybrid" offering? Charge the me to print off a fingerprint card and send it to me (or in to ATF depending) - I dunno how photo works with eForm1s now but mail that in if needed or send me the JPG of my photo, and generate a One Shot Trust for the item. I'll do the electronic filing myself...
Probably moot until the .gov restarts, but if ATFE continues to be difficult, I'd pay something for the convenience of the fingerprint card *AND* to generate another One Shot Trust. Actually the real product here is a way to click off a One Shot Trust for other Forms - I'd love to use it for Form4 paper/non-SS transactions and I'd pay a small fee for the privilege (since obviously the lifetime price was predicated on one buying lots of SS product). |

Just to clarify the current situation -
Are the issues with the form 1 being resolved also on hold due to the shutdown (meaning can this be fixed so that form 1's can start to be submitted again)? I understand no approvals are being done for any form, just trying to understand if we can get the form 1 submission process fixed in the meantime. |

As I understand it SS is waiting on the ATF to approve their revised online process for form 1 submittals that now, hopefully, meets ATFs ever changing and nebulous requirements. The revised process was supposed to be approved several weeks before the shut down even began but wasn't for whatever reason. Now with the shutdown it's in a holding pattern until after the shutdown ends and the ATF gets off their asses and approves the process. Unless of course they somehow decided to once again differently interpret the statutes while being shutdown. View Quote |

This is getting a bit ridiculous
It's been over five months since I bought this 'service' Somehow we've gone from everyone getting a personal phone call (telling all of us almost the exact same thing) to almost no communication If SS is listening to this: Get your shit together, pull up your big girl panties, and get the job done |

I just rolled my own prints and e-filed myself. To be honest now that e-forms is open again on form 1's, there is really no reason to pay someone to do it now.

this right here. I paid for an unlimited OST so I want to use what I already paid for. SS needs to figure out what the issue is and resolve it. Simply saying "its in the ATF's hands. There's nothing we can do", while convenient isnt going to cut it for much longer. They can make a more phone calls, hire an attorney, or whatever. Its not up to me to figure out what I have already paid them to facilitate. Worst case they can start refunding money for those of us who paid for their services and arent getting them.
