Hi,
I've got a DD MK18 that I've taken to the range twice and it is having issues. I bought it new.
When using new USGI (Colt, Okay, and Center) I will get a jam 1 or 2 times a mag sometimes.
The round tries to feed and catches on the feedramps, so violently in fact that it often smashes the tip and in 3 cases jammed the round back into the casing.
This was with the factory H buffer and also with an H2 buffer.
Looking at the upper, the bbl extension feedramps overhang the ramps cut into the upper, and there is a sharp raised shelf the rounds are catching on.
Additionally the tip of my gas key is dented from hitting on the gas tube I think from either violent cycling from overgassing or some misalignment.
Ejection is at about 12:30 and the cases dribble out (I shoot Wolf Gold exclusively), the ejection port has started to peen at the rear from this and the shells are not hitting the deflector.
I've not taken it apart or anything, only switched the muzzle device, I think something is not quite right.
Could I get this checked out for parts that might not be in spec?
I know there are a couple DD reps that look on this board, so figured this may be better than sending an email first.
Really enjoy my DD rifles, not upset, just know something is off with this one.
Thank you,
Derek
