The lifetime warranty is there for replacement parts when things go tits up.
DD is working on having parts (BCG, charging handle, bolts, etc.) for the DD5 available to purchase but with 100% of everything being put into gun builds right now, it's going to be a little while before that becomes a thing. |

The more proprietary guns and parts they have the more money they make. A few years from now if someone breaks a charge handle, you can't buy a bcm or another raptor. You have to buy theirs. Smart move on the business end, even if it cost them a few customers I'm not really sure that makes a ton of sense over a charging handle. It's more just a design flaw than anything else. Everything else is proprietary, but there are actual reasons behind it. dont mind maxbob, hes the the arfcom equivalent of stoop kid I haven't noticed the DD website selling replacement parts for the DD5 yet. why would they when they're proprietary and it has a lifetime warranty? Things go south in a ban, can't find replacement parts. Wouldn't that suck? It'd be nice to have an "oh shit" kit for a few things that are proprietary in their rifle. |

They aren't perfect, but their customer service really is top notch, so I know if anything goes wrong they'll take care of it. I was initially worried by the charging handle and the way the charging handle is. But, I know that if either are an issue it'll be fixed. Basically, in a nutshell I wanted a light, unique .308 semi other than my SCAR. This fit the bill perfectly. |

I like the DD5 a lot. Once I get it scoped I will do a write up on it.
As for comparing it to KAC. I had an ECC model and loved it. Soft shooting and very accurate considering I was behind the rifle. Wether it was scoped or iron sights it was fun to shoot and once I got the suppressor for it, I liked it even more. The DD5 without the suppressor it's a little more "snappy" but very easy and comfortable to shoot. My scope isn't in yet so I have only been using irons out to 200 yards. The can has definitely smoothed it out and will be run primarily this way. If I get an opportunity this weekend I will get a video of it shooting. Quoted:

I wonder why they are just installing a third party adjustable gas block instead of fixing with the correct length gas system or correct sized gas port?

Hey guys I just got my DD5V1 today and wanted to share my experience so far.
1) CH - so far I don't like it or hate it. It does take a strong tug to get it to come out but with some shooting I'm sure it will smooth out a little bit. 2) Ejection Port Cover - One word GARBAGE!! I don't mind the fact that it's polymer but it's extremely thin one drop and I could see this thing flying into 100 different pieces. 3) Safety - Really rough and hard I replaced it because I like all my safeties to be the same and it works flawless now. Just upset the original doesn't work as well. 4) Mag Release - This issue is functional as my mag-release on the right side is currently not working. I will be contacting DD Monday in regards to this. I know their CS is outstanding. Other than that everything else is on point. |
