Ordered on 1/29/13. UPS has it for delivary 3/25/13. Honestly I did not expect kit until the fall. Turnaround time IMHO is outstanding. Thanks Steve and to all at RRA.

You're right, I don't care.

Well Joefor...what do you think? How does it shoot?

Enjoyable to shoot, easy to assemble. Too bad I dropped it in a lake

I ordered a ( CAR A4 Rifle Kit, with Chrome Lined Barrel ) on February 14, 2013. I guess based on the previous post I can expect mine soon.

I ordered a CAR 4 Kit with Chrome Lined Barrel on March 26th, with no word on a ship date as of yet. However I ordered a trigger set for another project on May 3rd, and it is showing up at my house today.
I guess it is all in what you order. |

I ordered my CAR A4 kit on 3/15/13, just go it from UPS yesterday (6/12/13). Almost finished assembling!

i am a user of an RRA carbine kit, and the only flaw i found is that the sides of trigger has been finished badly. it is machined uneven on each side although it does not affect performance in any way it is quite annoying to see it on a nicely assembled AR.

I am happy for you, but that stinks for me. I ordered the identical kit on 3/10/13 and here it is July 19th and no word yet. I even made sure they got the money up front instead of waiting to charge me when shipped. I know they were absolutely slammed during the times of uncertainty, but the fact you ordered yours five days later than mine and received it over a month ago makes me lust all the more for mine to arrive. Was yours with a chrome-lined barrel? If not, maybe that's the difference. |

I am also wondering if the Chrome Lined Barrels is where the delay is at.
I have heard from several people about receiving the CAR kit in about 3 months. I ordered my CAR kit w/ Chrome Lined Barrel on March 26, 2013. I have not heard anything in regards to it shipping any time soon. Has anyone received a chrome line barrel kit |

Thanks, Steve, I appreciate your response. I am still patiently waiting knowing all-the-while I will receive the finest rifle available.

I didn't request a chrome barrel but they sent me one. The rifle came just about exactly when they said it would. See est. delivery times.
I am completely happy with this rifle. Fit and finish are very high quality. You will be very pleased with your rifle. Easy to shoot and maintain. I shot mid eighties on the SR-1 target with battle iron sights prone at 100 paces last time out. I am sure the rifle will shoot very, very accurately. I have shot about two hundred fifty shots informal target. Not a single malfunction or mis-feed. |

Thanks Crosby.
I ordered my CAR kit at the end of March. I know RRA is buried in orders now, so I through I would ask if anyone received the CAR Kit with Chrome Barrel that ordered it last Spring. I am not in a big hurry to get it, but I did pass my 6 month mark. It seemed that the Non Chrome Lined kits where shipping in about a 3-4 months after they where ordered. Steve has mentioned a supply issue with the chrome barrels as well. I am trying to get a better idea on where my order sits. |

I checked just now and RRA isn't publishing lead times. Maybe look back a little on this thread and see what others had to wait and add a little bit. This rifle is well worth the wait. BTW did you see the photo in the current American RIfleman of FBI agents using RRA carbines on page 82? I think these are probably kit carbines.

View Quote The FBI was deeply involved in the DEA-administered DOJ contract on which RRA delivered a lot of carbines to multiple federal agencies (we aren't allowed, by th econtract, to disclose quantities, llocations, etc...). The Bureau has also been a client for other, non-contract, goods and services. The photo (pg 82 as referenced)looks like an indoor training day at Quantico. Steve/RRA |

I am pleased to announce the RRA CAR Kit with chrome-lined barrel I ordered 3/10/13 will arrive tomorrow night, 10/16/13. Seven months was worth the wait.

Did anyone else notice the possible RRA carbine being used at Canadian Parliament?
This image is from the Reuters news service. Check out the LE officer on the left of the picture. http://www.reuters.com/news/pictures/slideshow?articleId=USRTR4B6HT#a=6 It is probably a kit carbine. This link will get you to the picture. |

View Quote We have had a considerable number of LAR-15 in service with different Canadian LE Agencies for years. If the officer is using the carbine (sorry, couldn't make the link hot to follow it), it is very possible that it is a complete RRA LE carbine. Steve/RRA |

I looked up SWAT team in Wikipedia.

More than likely a complete rifle rather than a kit.
I don't remember any kits going into Canada. Steve/RRA |
