Starting to see one of my favorite vendors sliding into mediocracy. I've spent thousands of $ with them over the last few years. I have noticed their shipping slowing way down and have dealt with the Surepost nonsense. All in all, with the exception of a bottle of bore cleaner with a loose cover that spilled in shipping, I've always been happy. Recently put an order in for cleaning supplies, accessories, and a DD sight set.
When I placed the order online the sight set showed in-stock. Order shows up a week later and no sight set. Check on-line and shows backordered. OK probably wouldn't have ordered it from Brownells if I had known it was backordered. There are plenty of other places that had them in stock.
I got wrapped up in work and forgot about it. About a week and half later I check on the website and the sight set shows in stock again. Hmm never received any notification about shipping so I call them. They confirm in stock now and tell me it will go out the next day (Thursday). The following Monday still hadn't received shipping info. I call again...yes it's in stock will go out in 24-28 hours. At this point I'm getting really annoyed. As luck would happen my CC info got stolen and had to cancel the card I used to place the original order. My fault for not updating it with them but if they had shipped it when they said they would it would not have been an issue. Got is straightened out tonight but now its another 4-8 days for shipping.
First world problems and all but I think I'm done with Brownells for a while.
