Thank you. I had a feeling it would be similar to the ACSS Holosun.

I should add, that BDC is good for 115/124 grain standard velocity out of a 16" barrel. The 147gr subsonics will drop faster, obviously. Shooting out of a shorter barrel like the Evo pistol will also cause some velocity loss... but it should be pretty darn close.

Looks like Robski got his hands on one already. He says April release in this video, that's optimistic. Looks like it works pretty well on an RS Regulate mount.

I've got 3 Brand V 1301s. Love the sight, hate the mount.
I am really, REALLY looking forward to getting my grubby old paws on one of these. My old MKIs just don't like my Aimpoint dots anymore. Red comets. That is why I tried switching to the 1301s, but after quite a bit of use the mounts seem to be the weak spot (and really tight relief). My boys will be happy to inherit my aimpoints for their builds. /wait impatiently |

I'll give you guys a run-down on the reticle soon. For now, since it's finally officially announced, here's a close up view of the prototype we used for SHOT Show photos. The markings on the production unit will be slightly different, and there will be a couple of mount options available as I understand (different heights over rail). http://primaryarmsoptics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/CyclopsProto1.jpg View Quote The only thing I'd want more would be that, using an AAA battery, with auto on/off. ~$300 |

You guys know I'm gettin' one. See that 10.5" SBR in my avitar pic? I'm gonna run drills with it back to back, 2 MOA microdot vs. 1x Cyclops, and see where the advantages and disadvantages lie. Testing and evaluation baby! As far as I know, nobody has ever run standardized drills vs. a timer to see if you're faster with a red dot vs. a 1x prism at 7 feet, 25 yards, 100 yards, 200 yards. It's gonna be super fun, I love this sort of thing.

|
Any way to low mount this? Or directly to rail?
Such as for a shotgun, Ruger rimfire pistol, or cz scorp. |
|
|
What is the release date of the 1X Cyclops? Will a FDE version be available?

Have you ever floated the idea of adding a solar unit like on some of the holosun units, it would help the battery life of these optics. Looking foward to this , i like my 2.5

I haven't looked through our prototype vs. the Spitfire 1x back-to-back to compare. We are supposed to have the prototype for folks to play with at NRAAM coming up soon in Dallas, if any of you are going to be there.
As far as the solar panels, auto on/off motion sensors, compass in the stock, etc., we haven't gone that direction yet because we wanted to invest in making the red dots tougher, higher quality units that would last. That's what we threw our resources behind. Better to have a basic unit that works as advertised and is tougher than people expect for the money, instead of having a bunch of warranty work going in and out for solar panel repairs. |

Probably too soon to ask but I'm using a Bushnell 1-4x illuminated FFP throw down style scope that I like except: 1.) It weighs 24.8 oz. with mount which makes the rifle heavy so the Cyclops would solve that issue. 2.) Maybe because of my age, I find the reticle at the 1x way too small so I have to increase the power to about 2.5x that also increases the reticle size. I wonder whether the reticle on the Cyclops would be as small as the one on my Bushnell scope at 1x.

So, if I was gonna put it on my scattergun for example, I would use an Aridus CROM mount. http://www.aridusindustries.com/products/remington-aimpoint-micro-crom/ Just substitute the Cyclops for the Aimpoint in this pic, essentially. http://www.aridusindustries.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/web2-152800.jpg Same with other applications. PA_Mike,
What is the weight, length, eye relief, and amount of diopter adjustment of the 1X Cyclops? Have a bad astigmatism and looking forward to the release. Thanks..... |

View Quote WEIGHT: 9.7 ounces with factory mount and battery LENGTH: 4.02" EYE RELIEF: 3.7" DIOPTER: +3 to -3 (I really have no idea what that means... what's the unit of measure for diopters?) |

thanks, I don't think there is any units in diopter. My prescription is -1.5 so -3 to +3 is good for me.
Any reason you guys did not put the illumination knob on the right side of the optic so that it is out of the way when shooting both eyes open? |

View Quote So, now we've got 1x optics with batteries located on each side-- let the comments battle begin on who is right! EDIT: @dcashel, yes an FDE will be available. Take a look at our MD-RB-AD-FDE red dot for a good idea of what the finish ought to look like. It's a ceramic coating applied on top of the regular matte black anodizing. |

Will the FDE version be released along with the black in July or will the FDE version be released sometime later? Thanks....

Will the FDE version be released along with the black in July or will the FDE version be released sometime later? Thanks.... View Quote The FDE finish is a ceramic coating that gets done by the factory in China. The FDE versions start out as the black versions, that is, if you scratched off the ceramic coating you would find matte black hardcoat anodizing, not bare aluminum, underneath. (In this way it's kinda like getting double protective finishes for the same price, eh?) Now, this is PURE speculation on my part with NO evidence behind it, ok? But if I had one guess, I would say this might be how it works. We order (totally random made-up numbers here) 600 black anodized Cyclops and 400 FDE Cyclops. The factory makes 1000 black Cyclops and sends 600 of those to us on the boat first thing, immediately. The other 400 lag behind a bit because of the additional step of adding the FDE finish, so it takes an extra week or so for those units to get put on the big boat. When the FDE units get here, our quality control guys are hopefully already knee deep in checking through all the black ones, but we will also do them one batch at a time for organizational purposes. So we might officially release the black ones with 300 of the 600 gone through QC, and the FDE ones need to wait a bit longer while we finish checking the black ones. There's a bit of a picture for you of how these things typically work. It doesn't always go as we hope normally because of stuff outside our control. We've had shipments sit on the boat in harbor for a couple of weeks waiting for US Customs to come through and inspect our particular container, for example. Not a darn thing we can do about that, so that's why we try not to PROMISE anything. What if the FDE Cyclops get through customs first and the black ones sit and wait? Then everything changes. P.S. I had an old friend swing by PA for a visit yesterday and I managed to show him the prototype Cyclops (mounted on a Tavor X95). The first thing he did was try to crowd the eye relief like an ACOG. I said, "nope, nope, don't crane your neck forward like that, this thing has tons of eye relief and it's mounted way up there on purpose, just relax and bring it up like a red dot." "Oh, WOW!" "Uh huh. We're gonna sell alot of these I think." |

Hey, Will the battery cap be replaceable like on the Aimpoint T1/T2? I would love to put a Knights armament Battery cap on one.
