View Quote The brn 180 is not a Normal upper. Every di upper(99% of all uppers) needs a buffer tube and a non folding stock to fire. |

any one hear if they will offer just the upper, I have a dozen 80% lowers I have acquired over the years and can care less for a complete gun that I need to get from an FFL, especially in this political environment.

I wonder if with the latest run on raw materials this might actually be a simpler/faster way to get this to market, assuming it's been tested and QA'd properly? @PalmettoStateArmory: any insights you can provide here? Would love to see the upper by itself first (but can beggars actually be choosers?). |

6 weeks until October. Im starting to doubt I'll have a JAKL under my tree this year.

Also as I recall the 556 version will be available first and I'm interested in the 300blk, so may be sometime next year for myself too I guess. Still waiting to hear about which specific models will be available, when and if the prices have stayed the same.

I doubt it, given PSA's usual price point. I've been holding out for a PSA bufferless "AR" over a BRN-180 and MCX/Rattler as I feel both are rather inflated prices. The before prices for the sig rattler conversion at best were ~$1450 and the BRN-180 10.5 300blk was ~$770. Supposedly if I am remembering Dale correctly, the JAKL upper by its self should be about $400, and the full pistol version should be around $899. Given that they have held true to their quotes on the dagger, I'm feeling pretty good about holding on.
I would be real interested if the JAKL upper will work with the BRN-180 lower, or if PSA plans to release a pic rail lower of their own. |

View Quote (apologies in advance if I'm behind, I didn't read the whole thread) I was watching videos from the event earlier this year and they answered that--the pic rail on the back is part of the upper assembly, not the lower. One question I had after watching the videos--the PSA guy said they were only going to sell assembled uppers and mentioned something about pressing the barrel, trunion, etc. Does that mean this will not use AR barrels and barrel changes will not be easy to DIY? |

I got a BRN folding brace build and would be all over this if it's lighter, adjustable gas (including off), and monolithic as depicted

Also the forward, non-reciprocating ambidextrous charging handle is a big selling point for me too. The charging handle on my BRN-180 is incompatible with certain mounts, and even having it on the right side like an AK is annoying. |

Indeed the FM is very interesting and certainly competitively priced to what was speculated for the JAKL.

I do like that it’s 11.5”, but it appears di, and it’s also out of stock. I imagine there’s plenty of space for both. |

I dont need a whole gun but I may grab an upper to play with once they start selling them separately. |
