My brother just bought an AP4 308 and really likes it.
Now I am thinking about getting one or having one ordered through an FFL.
My question is why do all the 308 models except the ones with the 24" barrel have the carbine length handguards?
The RFA2-300 is really sweet but I would rather have it in .308. so...
If I were to order a RFA2-308B from my FFL could they place a custom order to have the barrel fluted, have handguard changed out for the 308-FF-4SH even though the 308b comes with carbine length handguards? And possibly have the Skeletonized Buttstock installed as well.
I guess my biggest concern is having the rifle length quad rail handguards on a carbine length system. Will it work or should I say will the handguards fit over the gas block?
If the quad rail handguards won't fit, what about the UG-17/19, whatever ones are the rifle length.
