View Quote Most of these LE trade in ARs clean up really well. The silver marks all over the upper and lower are typically rub marks where aluminum has been deposited from mags floating around inside a rifle case and are on top of the anodizing. A little oil and a fine grit Scotch-Brite pad removes them easily. I snagged a 6520 LE trade in last year. It looked beat up until I cleaned it up. Now it looks fantastic. |

The only issue was the barrel nut was loose, and it took awhile to clock correctly. There was also signs that the front sight had been removed? Maybe these once had a rail that someone retained before wholesaling? |

Summit sells both versions on gunbroker, they probably picked the wrong one out. The listing clearly states youll get one with leo markings. Message them as well |

Did anyone else get get one of the AR-15A3 Tactical Carbines that Recoil had last week? I’m curious about what furniture and police department add-ons people got.

I got one from Summit as well and mainly wanted it for the lower, which did not disappoint.
- 07/09 barrel with multiple scratches just forward of the delta ring area - fsb taper pin area has dings that look like it was removed at some point - bcg well worn, consistent with a few k rounds but it was spotless as if thrown into an ultrasonic cleaner - in contrast to the worn but clean upper, the lower was filthy, especially the h buffer It shoots good and I am happy, no issues with a salty gun. Just my humble opinion, but you cant beat the old rollmarks vs the new laser engraved stuff. I will still probably sell the upper for a deal. Attached File Attached File |

My first one I got from them it was only hand tight. And same signs as if the FSB had been removed. My second one looks good on the outside, but was pretty dirty and used internally. I guess there was a ding in my carrier key which smoothed off the bell on top of the gas tube. After I replaced the Gas tube, I had to try and open-up the carrier key hole. I'm shooting it tomorrow to see if it works. Here's my original gas tube. |

One bolt even had the white paint dot. I was hoping for the half moons like the picture, but it’s hard to complain about what I got for the price. |

Why did Colt switch from the "SEMI" which are seen on the late 90's LE rifles to "Fire" mark?

To those who ordered from this current batch at SGB: What production years have you been getting?
|
|
|
My Law Enforcement marked Phoenix PD was from 2009. The first one they sent marked "M4 Carbine" was for 2013 (non LEO markings).
And I think these were the guns SGB has been selling: PATROL RIFLE UPDATE November 19, 2013 Patrol Rifle operators who attended the quarterly training session on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, had a pleasant surprise waiting for them. Those who were carrying the originally issued full sized, twenty inch heavy barrel Colt AR15 had brand new rifles waiting to be picked up, prepared, and put through their paces on the range so they could be deployed on the street. The Department was able to order and receive a number of Colt model LE6920 Law Enforcement Carbines. Seventy-two of them will go out to the precincts for Patrol Rifle operators. These rifles have sixteen inch barrels, a flat top receiver to facilitate the mounting of approved optics, and collapsible stocks. The new variant should come as a welcome relief to those who were used to the standard 20″ heavy barrel fixed stock versions that had previously been issued. PLEA would like to personally acknowledge the following individuals for their efforts: Lt. Jim Burgett and his rifle staff – Sgt. Brett Draughn, Officers Jack Villa, Pat Crouse, and Mark Nelson, Property Management Bureau Lieutenant Scott Sowerwine and Detective Stacie Dergie for identifying the rifles which needed replacement and Commander Gail Kavanagh for facilitating the process. PLEA would also like to acknowledge those members of the Command Staff who helped facilitate the process, which was truly a team effort. |

Mine came in from Summit Gun Broker a few days ago. 2010 barrel date, carry handle, side sling dangly thing. Small pins. All the parts that I expected to be marked, are marked, even the lower receiver has a forge mark, which is a first for me.
Light wear, some scrapes, a surprising amount of what looks like trail dust on the carbine. Overall, great, GREAT condition for a police gun. I"m super happy with this purchase. Except.... Now I want more |

I recently had a bad experience buying a LE Trade Colt M4 from Guns.com. I didn't want to hijack this thread so I started a new one in GD. I have purchased quite a few used guns over the years online and this is the first time something like this has happened. Hell, I purchased a used gun from Guns.com a few years ago and it exceeded my expectations. I honestly expected they would have handled it better, but so be it. They are selling more LE Trades than they used to so be aware if you buy from them and make sure to read up on their return policy. My P6940 arrives tomorrow. Fingers Crossed.
