It looked like AU may have had around 400 of these uppers to start with. View Quote Typical AU. Pic and description do not match. How Goddamn hard can it be? |

The upper is identical to my Colt A4 upper except the AU upper has the magpul handguards on it. |

Was Colt making A4s as part of their FMS contract or just M4s?
Wonder if these were left over parts they just used up. |

How hard is it to get pics posted. I wrote AU, and some gobbly gook non-answer about M4 A4 20" Magpul. No clue if the upper has C or CAGE Code.
I purchased one last week. They said it shipped last Tuesday. UPS says it is still sitting in Las Vegas. What'sup with this crap? |

I received my Colt A4 Upper with magpul handguards from AU. Upper is a Cage code marked square forge (BA) upper and barrel is marked C MP (though the "C" almost looks like an "O" but it is definitely a "C").

But, I have been a buyer of all things Colt from probably every merchant you know of. I have not found one that is a crook. I am critical of one large firm that misrepresents things, but I think it is lazy. another is banned from this forum, but is a decent guy. another has not sold much Colt in ages but people hold him in high regard. another makes expensive but quality colt barrels and gadgtets. another sells a lot of good stuff and his prices are high, and i bet his inventory is high. They said it shipped last Tuesday. UPS says it is still sitting in Las Vegas. What'sup with this crap? View Quote AU needs to hire an internet marketing person who is dedicated to taking photos of newly received items and posting them on their web page with the "photos of actual item" disclaimer in their listings...that is soooo much easier than trying to give a written description of an item; as long as they can take 5 or 6 quality photos. Currently their photos don't match their descriptions which just causes confusion and heartache for both the buyer and AU if it is not an accurate portrayal of the item. In today's world that isn't hard to come by; AU is clearly behind the times - relying on generic descriptions and manufacturer/open source photos of items. Even if they actually do deal with high volumes of Colt product, just take a day or two to have someone go through the shipment and snap real photos before posting them for sale. As far as shipping...I purchased items last Sunday (non-Colt) that were listed as in stock, and they were in my hands yesterday. My only assumption is that if they created the label but it shows not received by the post office that they ran out of the item but are confident Colt has some en route to them quickly, i.e., expecting Colt to deliver quickly . I do think that AU does a pretty good job of keeping up with their in/out of stock items and updating their website. |

Quoted: why does that matter? You are a picky one. View Quote Those of us that are collectors are disturbingly OCD about those details. When I am looking for a piece for my collection, I will only pay top dollar for things that are LNIB, factory packaging, and complete with factory accessories. I hunted for an LE6945 upper receiver conversion kit in the blue collectors box for about seven to nine months before I found one. I got double lucky in that I paid less than I should have for it. |

My 20 inch upper showed up today in a plain white box sheathed in white plastic. No Colt markings on the box. The only markings I noticed on the assembly were 1369 on the upper receiver behind the case deflector and an R on the barrel near the delta ring assembly. I believe the R stands for Roscoe? The upper came with the black MagPul hand guards shown on the AU website. I really like the fit and feel of these guards. There is no play and they are comfortable. I had originally intended to replace them but not now. Assembly as whole looks great. It does have bit of smelly lubricant on it. Overall happy with this purchase and now off to find sights, bcg and charging handle.

are those 20" uppers ONLY coming with a colt cage code upper and not a colt barrel? I want a musket upper but not if its some parts build with just a cage code upper.

Mine is black... cage code upper. and c mp marked barrel. got it pretty quick. blue and white colt box but torn up a bit.

I have purchased two of these uppers from AU. The first in August of 2019 and the second mentioned in my post above this month. They are both marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 on the barrel. They both have the R for Roscoe on the barrel near the delta ring. Both have 13629 and the square mark on the upper behind the case deflector. There is not a production date on the barrel like some of the other Colts I have. The 2019 upper had some polishing marks on the feed ramps that were noticeable but this has had no impact on function. I completed it with a Tool Craft NB bolt carrier group, Colt carry handle, Bushmaster fixed stock assembly and an Aero lower with an Larue MBT trigger. Setup is very accurate, easy to shoot and has never malfunctioned after about 2000 rounds. My 16 inchers get little use now. The feed ramps on the new upper show signs of polishing but its very slight like they just shined them. Overall it looks better than the first. Hopefully it functions as well as the first.
