@Harvey_Mushman When did you order yours? Ordered mine 11/17 and should be here today or tomorrow. Hoping I got an LE marked rig.

What if it meant Colt Reciever? Since it is in fact just a receiver.
Guess we’ll never really know until Colt provides a response. |

Looking at Colt's naming convention, LE = Law Enforcement, seems CR = Civilian Rifle. View Quote Colt Law Enforcement 6920's are just 6920's rollmarked "Law Enforcement" along with the "Restricted" verbiage. That's the only difference. Same exact thing except for the rollmarks. IIRC LE serial # prefix for 6920's came about when Colt was playing the name game in ban states. CA banned AR's specifically by roll marked name, like Colt Sporter. Some court challenges by CA AR owners found that if AR was not specifically named in the statute, it was legal - a victory for CA AR owners. Colt changed the 6920 roll mark to M4 Carbine. Over night, Colt M4 Cabine roll marked 6920's were legal in CA because M4 Carbine was not specifically named in the CA law. Colt kept the SP prefix serial number. People in CA freaked out believing. that the SP in the serial # was enough to get them in trouble w CA law. Colt changed the serial # prefix to LE and CA Colt 6920 buyers were happy. That's how the LE prefix came about for CA and the rest of us. CA DOJ was making up AR laws not on the books and that's why the court ruled in CA AR owners favor. It's no wonder CA peeps worried about the SP prefix. |

If you want a Colt M4 CARBINE marked pistol/firearm, yes. If you have a complete upper and want a Colt M4 CARBINE marked lower with a standard M4 stock to go with it, perhaps. A 6920 if you want an M4 or 6920 OEM if you want to swap furniture might be a better option. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The box that mine came in says "Complete lower receiver semi auto " "Spares" Model -SP633784 |

I am thinking that it is a great deal for any quality complete receiver. So what that it does not have an LE prefix. The military receivers have a variety of letters in theirs S/Ns...

Depends if you get worked up over markings. It's a great deal on a Colt product. View Quote Here are my MK18 clones. Brownells has 11% off ending today and here's an activejunky link for $10 off and 4%. Probably not going to get better than this. |

Strangely my AR-15A4 (6720) says it's a LE Carbine but has a "CAR" prefix.

Got mine in yesterday, CR prefix as others have stated. Can't complain, other than a bit of a blemish showing raw metal. Not a huge deal though.
The L is also slightly missing on roll mark, that doesn't really bother me that much, either. |
Mine arrived today. Most of the L in Colt is missing, other than that it looks fine. I ended up getting it for $244 shipped, they did honor the $15 off coupon and free shipping.
Jason It's a CR prefix SN |

On sale today only at Brownells complete Colt M4 lowers $219.99. Use coupon code 3416 and code M7R for free shipping.
I put the 3416 code in and it updated the price, I then put in the M7R code and it took it no problem. There is a $10 FFL fee that Brownells charges on items shipped to your dealer so it comes out to $229.99.

Quoted: I'll have to look at the serial on my 6720 to see if the serial is straight in that. I did look at the roll mark on it when I pulled the commando lower to look at it, all looked good on it. I only pulled it out to look at it when I saw the light strike mark on your lightweight lower up top. I am going to guess that it was one of the stripped lowrers from AU. View Quote |

Ordered mine tonight with $25.00 off and free shipping. How long does it take brownells to ship them?
I am not Brownells CS, however...
If item is in stock, your CC wasn't declined, and you provided correct up to date FFL info you should be getting a "has shipped" email in the not too distant future. |
For what it is worth, the rifles that Colt is drop shipping on our behalf to government agencies have serial numbers with a CR prefix...

Just got shipping info for mine. It went into "order on hold" status, just called and it got pushed through. Had to do with FFL verification for a Brownells preferred dealer.
Got mine for $235 OTD with code "MDK". I think that's 20% off and free shipping. |
Mine are just fine and well marked (ordered from Brownells 11/20). Can't complain at all for the price/package set. Ifeel its a good buy for a Colt set.
Where can I find a "M4 Commando" lower? |
