Yeah, that may end up happening. But I'd like to know a bit more about them before spending the money to build around a barrel I didn't really want or need in the first place. I can justify it if for my Colt collection if Colt actually made those barrels in house. I can probably still justify is if they were produced by Colt by a company known for making really nice barrels (Wilson, Krieger, etc.). I figure the W barrel stamp means something...hoping someone will drop the knowledge.
ETA: I ordered a receiver (forward assist & dust cover installed) from a company. The box showed up and was obviously too large for a barrel-less receiver. Inside was this 24" stainless HBAR beast. I contacted them (via email b/c they have no damn phone #). They were quick to want me to ship it back, but couldn't tell me when my receiver would show up. I politely declined returning UNTIL I had the receiver. The next day...I got a screwy email saying they couldn't get another receiver and that Colt had mislabeled the barrel, thus the shipping error. I don't believe that for a second, and only and idiot looks at an invoice for a receiver and throws a barrel in. Anyway, I guess I'm going to keep it...just a matter of saving for a build or selling it.
