I ordered one yesterday. Hope when I get to my FFL this week I get the gun I think I am going to!!! (Be my first Colt)

I picked up my New Colt SOCOM Friday and I'm very disappointed. It has multiple chips in the anodizing on the lower receiver and it actually has a small chip in the aluminum right next to the roll mark were something must've hit the lower receiver (where the magazine catch is). I'm sending it back to Colt for repair as soon as Colt emails me a prepaid shipping label. I hope they replace the lower receiver guess we will see.
PS the Colt was ordered from Buds. Because my dealer transferred the weapon to me Buds wouldn't take it back and send me a replacement. I was in a rush and didn't look the rifle over well before doing the paper work. Shame on me. 1981 |

Interesting...pics on the damage? I put one on layaway last week. Curious based on your location (NY), did Buds do work to it to make it NY compliant?

Ah. Got it. I was mentally trying to picture what an NY compliant SOCOM would look like in the end. Hope Colt gets it straightened out for you.

Do these new 2017 versions have the KAC rail on them or the Troy rail they switched to in the original run? OP's had the KAC rail, but curious to hear if others had the KAC or Troy since I thought somewhere it indicated these had a Troy rail on them?

I ordered one yesterday. Sort of glad Buds has the description all messed up on them. If they actually listed what they are with a photo of the real thing, I have no doubt they would have sold out before I noticed these threads and ordered one. What's funny is they have no idea what they have (at least most of the people you talk to there) since they go off of the website info only. Earl

Order placed. Stoked to have a M4A1 14.5" pinned upper to match my M4A1 16"

I have been on the phone with Colt and Bud's on and off for the past two weeks. The guys and gals over at Colt keep stating that Bud's description of this firearm was entirely incorrect. After repeated attempts of trying to get clarification from the gushop, I was getting highly frustrated...long story short, thank you for this post. This is exactly what I needed, and I went ahead and ordered mine this morning!
NE what bayo is that? I like it, a lot. |

Anyone aside from Bud's have one? They won't ship to me. Grabagun is out.

Am I understanding correctly that supposedly only 200 of these LE6920 SOCOM's were released with the 14.5" SOCOM barrels?
Does anyone think that will add any collector value to these carbines or is it irrelevant in the world of Colt carbines? |

View Quote I do believe that these will be slightly more desirable than the previous SOCOMS because of the barrel and if the production run of 200 is correct, that too would add collectability. |

It seems to be on this entire run of SOCOMs, but I've heard that only 200 were made this time around. I don't know how much I believe that given how many vendors got them. View Quote As for the collection value, one would think that these would certainly obtain a bit more value than other Colt carbines...but then again, I'm pretty new to AR world and really have no idea what I'm talking about One good looking rifle though! |

Yeah, I didn't really believe only 200 were made considering how many vendors got them and that Buds still has them. View Quote Agreed, surprised Bud's still has them in stock and leads me to believe there at least 500+ or more of this variant. |
