these are sweet shooters. Picked one up from grabagun not long ago for under $750 when on sale/clearance area of the site. But, I will say the QC at colt has really gotten bad though. They dont make them like they did before 2004

They won't ship to me because part of my zip code is in Cook County, not the part I live in, though.
They won't hear any of it. Grabagun will, however. You also have to pay by check with Bud's and they take long to ship. |

Pretty hard to beat a 3% CC fee with an 8% tax. Sadly its the same reason I order Larue stuff from an out of state vendor instead of Larue. 8% adds up. |

Either way, If lower prices for the M4A1 hold up with the new release these are worth the price just in parts value. I thought about pulling the trigger on one just because I needed a M4 rail and couldn't find one.

So people that bought this socom, are you going to safe queen it? Or what's your plan? What are you gonna dress it up with ? Or is it going to be kept it stock?

Just got my SOCOM in, holy crap this thing is cool! This rifle has the tightest upper to lower fit I've ever handled, there is absolutely no play what-so-ever. I am no longer jealous I missed out on the first run of these because this one is even more "correct". I'm going to describe it here just so It's recorded somewhere. I ordered it from Buds Gun Shop 29JUN2017 for $1,206.13, received 06JUL2017. Model "LE6920SOCOM", UPC: 098289019462. To start off this has a 14.5" SOCOM pinned and welded with an extended A2 flash hider. Barrel is marked "13629 M P 5.56 NATO 1/7" with a production date stamped 10/16. Furnished with a KAC M4 RAS with 3 rail covers installed. Has a side sling swivel instead of the standard. The left side of the receiver is marked "M4A1 CARBINE" with no caliber markings. Serial number is an LE prefix and there is no etched UID code above the safety (which is ambidextrous). Buffer is an H weight and the buffer tube is a 4 position. Butt-stock is marked "13629 4U486" Upper is a Square forge code and the lower is a Cerro forge code. The "birth-bag" indicates a manufacture of March 2017. Also included in the box: one Colt 30 round aluminum magazine, the rest of the KAC kit (VFG, storage case, extra rail cover), Colt lock, and a Green instruction manual. Here are some pictures (apologies about the quality) http://i.imgur.com/IHbpO2Q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Tv8GiI5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DPu5ihU.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yTSZ37M.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KGKOGDd.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UtIBhlA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/w0JZmsS.jpg View Quote That thing is beautiful!! Finally Colt came out with a correct model with 14.5" barrel. It is a shame they only made 200 of these because they would sell |

Sorry to be Negative Nate here, but what the heck is that giant flash hider? I'm a huge Colt fanboy, but that thing doesn't look right at all. I'd rather have the old 16" version with a normal A2. The FN Military Collector M4 is more accurate than this, I hate to say it. I know Colt is using a 14.5" barrel instead of a 14.7" like FN, but they could have just used a spacer or even an extended flash hider like the BCM A2X.

What is ADCO going to do? View Quote another Q for those in the know......How much would the complete M4A1 CARBINE marked lower receiver sell for if one wanted to just keep the upper? |

I suspect they are going to remove the "permanently" installed flash hider as it comes from Colt. Its not that hard.... another Q for those in the know......How much would the complete M4A1 CARBINE marked lower receiver sell for if one wanted to just keep the upper? View Quote $800 (Probably less right now) lower $225 KAC RAS (you can get seconds but currently all are tough to get) Ebay Thats $1025 leaving you $200 into an upper with BCG. Of course prices go up or down with the tide though. For parting out the 14.5" Expanse rifles are the best deal to get cheap parts off of. They will dry up soon though because $550 or less is a smoking deal. If you want to look at it the other way. Currently there is a similar one of these uppers selling for $799 with a few days left. |

Bayonet will fit correctly on this version; but, not on the Expanse HB.

Hey,
What is the Bud's item number for the rifle you reviewed? They have two different listing under the UPC code you provided! Want to order the correct one. Thanks Rat |
