I don't know if Colt has a hiatus in production or what. They were going for ~1600 used and around $1750 new last summer, but they've skyrocketed as stock has dried up. You might check for local Armslist deals if you feel comfortable doing a face-to-face with a stranger. There have been multiple near me that were sub-$2K and in great condition that I would buy if I didn't already have one.
Good choice, BTW. I bought my 901 last summer and it's quickly become my favorite rifle in my collection since then.
I know Colt must be producing something because Brownells keeps getting out of stock 901 parts back in regularly, but I don't seem to see any dealers getting full rifles back in. That or they're being produced in small numbers and get bought up the second they come in.
